He is the Reason for the Season

I’m back with another fabulous challenge from Digistamps4Joy. This week our challenge is a Tic Tac Toe Color Challenge. All you have to do is pick colors from the tic tac toe square….across, down, diagonal…whichever you like, just as long as they are 3 in a row, and make a card or project with those colors. You may have other colors present, but the main colors must be the colors you have picked from the tic tac toe square. You can find the square on our challenge blog here.

The colors that I picked were black, neutral and gold. I was so lucky to be able to play with the image that I got. It is called Christmas Window Baby, and you can find it and all of their other wonderful images here. I decided to use a gate fold card for my project.

The black cs is from SU (Stampin Up), the dp is from Forever in Time’s Yuletide collection, the Gold Metallic dp is from Recollections and the neutral cs under the sentiment is from Recollections. The sentiment is free from Teresa Arsenault, of Tickell Expressions, and you can find this one and others on her blog here or here. When you open my card you find the gorgeous image from Digistamps4Joy. As soon as I saw this image I knew that I wanted to create something with it.

Now originally I had wanted to print my image onto the gold metallic paper, but my printer wouldn’t let me do it…it kept telling me that my ink was not compatible with photo paper….I kept telling it that it wasn’t photo paper…the printer ended up winning lol. So I printed it onto white paper, traced it onto tracing paper and then traced that onto the gold paper. I then paper pieced each piece of the window, the dove and the baby Jesus and his bed.

I colored the baby and his bed with Stampin Up felts and the hay with Gold Metallic Gelly Roll pen. The rays coming down from the dove are done with Stickles with gold glitter in it (don’t know the actual name of the stickles as it's not on the bottle).  The Merry Christmas underneath is from SU and the Sentiments on either side are free from Desert Diva and you can find them here. The gold lace on the front and inside is by Celebrate It and the small round discs on the front are Swarovski Crystals Swarovski Metallics.

So now it’s your turn to show us what you got. Head on over to our challenge blog and check out all the rules and prizes. And while you’re there check out the incredible creations my teamies have made.

Wow Charlene! I feel SO FLATTERED! This is a new venture for me and the first time I see my 'artwork' on someone else's card! Thank you so so much!

Charlene, this is precious, heart-warming and, most of all, inspirational. That image is wonderful and I love the rays you added coming down from the Holy Spirit Dove.
Thank you for honoring my sentiment by using it on the front of this wonderful creation. And thanks for the link too.
May I post your card on my blog with a link back to your blog?
Blessings,
Teresa

This is absolutely over the top gorgeous and inspiring. Love the elegant, classy color combo and the lace in the front of the card is so clever! What a stunning surprise you've created upon opening this - the rays are absolutely incredible and I just adore the gold mosaic framing around it all.
