Digistamps4Joy Challenge #40 - Water/ Blue Theme

Want some water? Turn on the tap and fill a glass. Need to do some laundry? No problem….pile your clothes into the washing machine and turn it on. Or maybe it’s time to give the kids (or yourself lol) a bath or shower, or wash the car, or water the lawn and the plants. So many different things we do with water that we don’t even think about. But what would we do if there was no more water? Do you know that there are a BILLION....that’s right, I said a Billion people in the world that lack safe drinking water? InternationalWater Day is held every year on March 22nd as a means of bringing attention to the importance of fresh water for everyone on earth.
Our challenge for the next 2 weeks, at Digistamps4Joy, is to make a project focusing on water and predominantly blue. For my project I tried to think outside the box and this is what I came up with.

The image that I used is called Butterfly Belle and you can find her here.  Now I have to admit that what I had originally planned on doing with this image just didn’t work out…happens sometimes…so I had to try and bring the water theme in through other means.
I used the blue and clear rhinestones to make you think of waves in the ocean (did it? lol) and I added raindrops onto my white flowers using stickles.

My project is a Post It Note holder…and fridge magnet all in one. In fact, the photo’s that I took were taken with it hanging off of my fridge. You can find the tutorial for the Post It Note holder here.

I hope that you will join us at Digistamps4Joy for this challenge. It runs from March 21st – April 3rd.  You can find all of the rules and list of prizes on our Challenge Blog here. And while you’re there, check out the fabulous creations that my teamies have made.
