It's Beginning to Look Alot Like Christmas....say what????

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas…..HOLD ON THERE!!! CHRISTMAS???? Didn’t we just finish having Christmas? Well as a matter of fact we did, but you know how hard it is to get the upper hand on all of those wonderful Christmas cards. So to help us along Digistamps4Joy has started a Christmas ProgressiveChallenge…and the great part is that they are supplying the image!! That’s right, as long as you make a card each month and enter it into the challenge, you will be eligible for the next month’s freebie! For the month of January we were given a really beautiful candle called Christmas Candle

Please excuse the quality of the picture. When I went to take it I realized that my camera battery was dead so I ended up taking it with my hubby’s cell phone…note to self…my cell phone takes much better pictures lol. So I started out with a really beautiful burgundy dp called Noel from Making Memories. I layered this onto white cs from Recollections. I used a layout from this weeks Wednesday Sketch Challenge at Outlawz. And I got the wonderful sentiment from A Piece of Heart.

I colored the image with my Crayola Pencil crayons and oms, and my gold and red glitter pens and my green metallic pen. The clear rhinestone swirls are from Crafts and the decorative border is cut out of gold cs from Recollections. I will have to check on what the name of the border die is as I forgot to bring it upstairs with me.

Note: You can join our challenge at any time…so if you missed out on January’s challenge, you can join in for February’s. Then as long as you enter a project in, you will get the next image…how great is that??

Thanks for visiting ~

Memories Become a Treasure

Hi all, it’s time for our mid challenge reminder at Digistamps4Joy. That’s right, we are half way through our current challenge and it’s Team B’s turn to wow you. The challenge for this fortnight has been “Add a real ribbon”.

I decided to use our Daylily image, colored in shades of peach and orange with my Crayola pencil crayons and oms, for my card. I started with a beautiful green colored embossed cs (unfortunately I don’t know the company as it was just some I had in my stash). To this I added the peach dp Nostalgia from My Minds Eye. The sentiment is from A Piece of Heart. For my real ribbon I used some light peach metallic ribbon by Crafts. The layout is from the current challenge at Feeling Sketchy.

I also distressed the edges of the image with SU Peach ink.

We hope to see all of you joining in with us for this challenge. To join in and to check out the awesome creations that my team mates have done, just head on over to our Challenge Blog. There you will find the rules and a list of the prizes. You do not have to use a Digistamps4Joy image to join in, but boy it sure makes us happy when you do. And if you do you also have a chance at winning the DT favourite prize which is a $10 Gift Voucher to the store!! Can you imagine…$10 worth of DS4J images and all you have to do for a chance to win this awesome prize is use one of our images.

Thanks for checking out my blog today…hope to see you again.

It's A Girl!

Hi all, it’s that time again…time for a new release again from Digistamps4Joy. We have a few different styles for you today, something for Valentine’s and at least one sweet and whimsical image. And that’s the image that I used for my card today….sweet and whimsical. Her name is Mini Mermaid Hugs…now don’t let the name fool you. There is nothing mini about how cute she is or how much fun she is to play with. Now there are many things that you could do with this image, as you will see if you head over to our Challenge Blog, but I have babies being born around me like you wouldn’t believe! So, since I know the one due this month is a girl, I decided to make a baby card.

Is she not just the cutest??? I just fell in love with that little face. So I started off with some Digital Designer Paper that I got from A.J. Digis as a freebie…they are called Tie Dye Digital paper. I cut out the image on the blue tye dye paper with my Scalloped Oval Nestibilities. Then I cut out a larger scallope in the pink tie dye for behind the image. I cut out the doily in the background using my Couture Creations Doily Die. The base is cs from Bazzil. The sequins and small purple hearts, the It’s a Girl beads, etc, and the foot prints are all bits and pieces from my stash. And the cute little bows under the “sentiment” is washi tape by Crafts. I colored her with Crayola Crayons and oms.

I hope you will head on over to our Challenge Blog to check out the rest of the new images and to see the fabulous creations my team mates have made.

Thanks for visiting….

Hug Me

Hi all, it’s time for another release day at Digistamps4Joy and has Margy ever got some great images for you today. The image that we were given to play with (actually we got 2, but I only managed to get a card done with one) is called HelloDear. OMG, he is so cute you just can’t help but want to hug him…but I’ll let you decide.

Was I right or was I right?? Isn’t he just the sweetest? Anyways, I used brown cs from Recollections for my base, the music sheet dp is by Far Far Hill, the blue heart paper called “My Heart” is from TLC and the striped paper is stuff that I had in my stash. The sentiment "Hug Me" was a free one from KaDoodle Bug Designs. I colored the image with my Crayola Pencil crayons and oms. I got the layout from Fresh Brewed Designs Wednesday Sketch Challenge J814.

To see the rest of the releases and what my fabulous team mates have come up with, head on over to the Digistamps4Joy Challenge Blog

Glitter and Sparkle Oh My!

Hi all, it’s time for another Digistamps4Joy Challenge and boy do I ever love what my team mate Angela has come up with for this Challenge. It’s one of my all time favorites, Glitter and Sparkle! Whoo hooo…I just love anything that glitter’s and sparkles.

For my card I decided to use the image Poinsettia Candles

I colored the image with my Crayola Pencil crayons and oms. I also used my Metallic Gold pen, glitter gold pen (for the flames and insides of the Poinsettia) and my red glitter pen for the holly berries. I added beautiful red poinsettia with little glittery gold pearls in the center, and the gold swirls were part of my stash. I heat embossed the gold onto the oval behind my image using a swirl stamp by SU. The cs is by Recollections, the snowflake dp is by Graphics 45 and I believe the striped one was by Basic Grey (but I could be wrong...it was a 8x8 piece that I got with a bunch of other 8x8's...no names on any of them lol).

Now it’s your turn to show us what you’ve got.  You have until Tuesday January, 21 to be able to join in. We would love to see you use a Digistamps4Joy image, but it is not a requirement…although it does make us all very excited when you do. And it also gets your name put in for the DT favourite prize. For the all the rules and a list of the prizes, not to mention some totally incredible creations by the DT, head on over to the Digistamps4Joy Challenge Blog.

Just a Reminder: DS4J is having a DT Call!!! If you have ever wanted to join our team, now is the time to do it! You still have a couple of weeks to get your name in. We are a fun loving group of ladies with the most wonderful owner. To join our team just go to our Challenge Blog to check out the requirements.

Thanks for visiting me today….

Wow...60 years!!

Hi all, I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and New Years, I know I did. Was a pretty busy season for me with having the in laws, my son and his girlfriend and her son over for Christmas dinner. Then it was off to Calgary on Boxing Day to visit with my parents and siblings until New Years Eve day.

But I am here today because Digistamps4Joy is sponsoring The Crafter's Cafe's latest challenge and I'm the GDT!

The challenge is an anything goes, which these days is right up my alley. Since my parents will be celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary this month, I figured that now was the time to get moving on their card. I used 3 of Digistamps4Joy's images...First Dance, a heart from the Valentine Set that I made into different sizes and then cut out to make the base and toppers, and one of the new images just released on Sunday Wings of Love...and this is what I came up with.

I used white metallic paper from Bazzil for behind the bride and groom and the black paper is from Recollections. My small rhinestones (red and clear) are by A Moment in Time (from my local dollar store). I colored the heart and outlined the wings with my pearlescent watercolors and colored the roses with my SU water color pencils. The sentiment is from Nettie's Cards.

I hope that you all come and join us over at The Crafter's Cafe for their Anything Goes Challenge.
