Anniversary Wishes

Wow, it's been quite a long time since I was last on here. Thank you for having patience with me as I have been spending the last few months just being with my family. My crafting time has been down to pretty much nothing lately but I am hoping that that is going to change soon. I think I may have finally started getting some of my inspiration back again...keep your fingers crossed.

So my mother in law and father in law just celebrated their 59th Anniversary recently...59 years, wow! Not many people can say that they have been happily married for that many years. My parents made it to their 60th Anniversary and what a wonderful milestone it was. So of course I had to come out of hibernation and make a card for the in laws. I started out with a card cut file freebie from Birds Cards called a Swirly Deep Edged Card that I cut using my Silhouette. I then added this adorable freebie bride and groom by Jade Dragonne at Deviant Art.

I coloured the image with my Chameleon pens (please excuse the guy's face...I had a problem lol). I added ribbon from SU and little rhinestones in my stash. The yellow cs is by Bazzil, the white is Recollections and the dp is also from Deviant Art. The sentiment is my own made with some of the words from the Anniversary song. The fancy square behind the image is from my Nestibilities Labels One Small.
The corners on the inside were punched with a Martha Stewart punch...not sure what it's called as I got it second hand. I found this wonderful sentiment for the inside on Splitcoast Stampers. Thank you so much for popping in. Hugs ~ Charlene

Digistamps4Joy Mid Challenge Reminder for Challenge #113

Hi all, it's time for the mid challenge reminder at Digistamps4Joy. For those who don't know, Digistamps4Joy is now an Anything Goes with a optional twist monthly challenge. Our challenges run from the 1st of every month to the last day of every month.

This will also be my last challenge as a DT member for DS4J. It was an extremely difficult decision but with the loss of my dad and sister last year and other family members with health issues this year, I feel that it is time for me to say good bye. I have so enjoyed being a part of this fabulous team with such an incredible 'boss'. They have been like a family to me and have seen me through many trying times over the last couple of years. So I would like to say a very heartfelt thank you to them.

Now that the mushy stuff is over, the theme for this month's challenge is Anything Goes with the the optional twist of Spring! The image that I used is called 'Spring has Sprung'. It is such an adorable image and I have been wanting to use it for awhile now.
The designer paper is from Graphics 45 and the CS is by Recollections. The cut file topper is a freebie from Birds Cards. The flowers in the right corner are made with a program from Silhouette and the roses and pearls are from my stash. I coloured that adorable image with my Crayola pencil crayons and oms. I added a few white highlights with my white gel pen.
Now it's your turn to show us what you've got. You are not required to use a DS4J image but if you do not only does it bring a smile to our faces, but you have the chance on winning the DT choice prize of a $10 Gift Voucher to DS4J! How awesome is that? You have until June 30th to join us so why don't you head on over to our Challenge Blog to check out all of the rules and prizes. And while you're there check out the fab creations that my team mates have created to delight and inspire you.

Thank you to those of you who have been faithfully following me over the years, I hope to still see you popping in. And for those of you who are new, thanks for popping in and I hope to see you again.

Thanks ~ Charlene

Graduation Celebration - DS4J New Release Sunday June 14, 2015

Hi all, it's time for a new release again at Digistamps4Joy. I got to play with one of Margy's new images and I have to admit, I have always wanted an image like this one. It's a cameo called 'Cameo Lady'. I have always thought that cameo's are just so elegant and this one does not disappoint.
I used a card cutting file from Birds Cards. I just loved the butterfly's and thought they would look nice with the cameo image. I coloured her with my Chameleon pens and added green 'gems' on her as well as on the frame around the image using my green metallic gel pen. The CS is by Recollections and the DP by SU.
The sentiments inside is a freebie from Docrafts. I used my Nestibilities Scalloped Square for the frame for my sentiment on the inside and a Memory Keepers punch for the corners of my sentiment on the front.

I hope that I have inspired you enough to head over to our Challenge Blog and check out the rest of the images being released today and also check out the incredible creations my team mates have made.

For Dad - Digistamps4Joy New Release May 17, 2015

Hi all, it's time for Digistamps4Joy's new releases once again. Riette has been very hard at work to bring us some beauties once again.

The image that I got to play with is called 'Life Saver' and was the perfect image to go with Margy's image 'Lake Malawi'.
I merged the two images and then coloured them with my Chameleon pens. I added white highlights on the water with my white gelly pen.
I hope that you will head on over to our Challenge Blog and check out the other wonderful images the Riette has done up to entice you. And while you're at it, check out the fab creations that my teammies have come up with and our current challenge...the theme is Buttons, Bows and Bling! Hope to see you there.

Buttons, Bows and Bling...Oh My

Bows and buttons and bling, oh my. It's time for the mid challenge reminder at Digistamps4Joy and this month Sara has chosen the theme of Bows, buttons and bling. Whoo whee...what a fabulous combination.

For my card I chose to use an image from the last new image releases. It's called Swing. I tried a new fold that is called a Peek a Boo card and you can find the video tutorial here and the written tutorial here.

The dp on the outside is a new one from Nana Vic's (thanks Vickie).
I coloured the image with my Chameleon pens and made up my own sentiment.

When you open the card the sentiment slides into place in front of the image.
Please excuse the pictures, I just could not get the colours to go right. The real colour of the inside paper is the photo above.

I hope that I have inspired you to join our challenge. You have until Sunday May 31st to join us. You are not required to use a Digistamps4Joy image but if you decide to use one not only will we be tickled pink but you will also have a chance at winning the DT choice which is a $10 Gift Voucher! How great is that?

So head on over to our Challenge Blog and check out all the rules and prizes...and all of my team mates incredible creations. We hope to see you join us in our challenge.

Popping In - DS4J Mid Challenge Reminder

It's time for another mid point reminder at Digistamps4Joy and our challenge this month is being hosted by Tonnie and she has chosen a sketch.

The image that I chose to use is called The "O" Look. This is a coloured image, which is really good because time sort of got away from me on this challenge lol. I have to admit, I have never used a coloured image before but oh man, I am definitely going to be looking into getting more. I love to colour but these images are so handy to have when you need a card in a hurry.
This card was probably one of the easiest one's I have ever done. I had the sketch and the coloured image so all I had to do was decide on papers, etc. The dp's were pieces that I had left over from other projects so I can't give you a name for them (sorry) but the base is a dark brown by Bazzil. I added some rhinestones picked up at my local dollar store. I wrote the sentiment with a brown embossing pen and then added clear embossing powder and heated it up.

I hope that you will pop on over to our Challenge Blog and check out all of my team mates fabulous creations and join in on our challenge. We have some wonderful prizes for our winners. You don't have to use a Digistamps4Joy image to join in but if you do you will be in the running for the DT choice prize which is a $10 Gift Voucher to our store...how fabulous is that?

Thanks for popping by ~ Charlene

A Little Birdie Told Me....

Hi all, for once I am not showing a card that I have made for a challenge for DS4J...but I am going to be showing you a new image of theirs that came out a couple of weeks ago. I am also going to be showing you a new digital paper line from Nana Vic's. So go grab yourself a cup of something and sit back, this is going to be a bit of a longer post.

When first saw the image and the paper I knew that I had to make a card with them both. The hard part was colouring the image...not because it is a difficult image to colour but because I am still learning to use my Chameleon pens. I love them but they do take a bit to get used to when you have rarely used alcohol markers lol.

So the image is called Bird Bath and the papers are called Shabby Chic, but there is nothing shabby about them. I absolutely love how they look with my project. They come in 4 different colours but for my card I used the blue.
I used some sky paper that I found online at Picphotos.net and printed my image out on it. I cut out the image and mounted it onto my Nestibilities Floral Oval. I cut out the pinstriped digital paper and the flowered digital paper with flowers and hearts using my Nestibilities Romantic Rectangles.

I just love that image and these papers together. The green flourishes to the side of the images are from my Cherry Lynn Designs Mini Fanciful Flourish die cut. I found the tutorial for this card at Cards, Crafts, Kids Projects. This is what it looks like from different angles....

Thanks for stopping in and I hope that I have managed to inspire you in some small way ~ Charlene

Fly Me to the Moon...Digistamps4Joy New Release

Fly me to the moon
Let me play among the stars
Let me see what spring is like
On Jupiter and Mars.....

Hi all, it's time for another new release from Digistamps4Joy and do we ever have some more fabulous images to show you. I have to tell you, I don't know why, but every since I saw this image that I got to play with this time I have been humming ol' blue eyes, Frank Sinatra's, song Fly me to the moon lol. I absolutely adore this image...he is just soooo cute! His name is Pilot Ted and you can find him here http://www.digistamps4joy.co.za/eshop/
Was I right or what? Please excuse the mistakes in my colouring...still getting used to colouring with my Chameleon pens (but I do love them). I printed him out on some digital paper called Rainbow Connect by Eye Inspire. How about we take a closer look at him....
I have to say, I just love his face. Not the way I coloured it (first oops lol) but his actual face. Isn't he too cute?

I hope that you have enjoyed checking out my new creation and I hope that you will pop by Digistamps4Joy Challenge Blog and check out the rest of our fabulous new images. And while you're there check out what my teammies have created to delight and inspire you.

Daisies for you...Digistamps4Joy Challenge #110

Hi all, it's time for our mid challenge reminder here at Digistamps4Joy and so it is Team B's turn to show their stuff. The challenge for this month is being hosted by our very talented Margaret Gilmer and she has picked embossing (wet or dry) with red as the main colour.

I used a new image by Riette that was just released on Sunday for my card. It's called Daisies and is such a pretty image I couldn't resist making something with it.
I coloured the image with my new Chameleon pens...oh man they are just fabulous to use. Please excuse any mistakes you might see as this is only my third time using them and I know I need a lot more practice lol. But I do like how my daisies turned out. I used my red metallic pen for the wrapping around the stems just to give it a little bit of sparkle.

We hope that you will join us for our challenge. Margy has some wonderful prizes including a $10 Gift Voucher for the winner of the DT Choice. You don't have to use a DS4J image, but to win the DT choice you must. To check out all of the prizes and rules, please head on over to our challenge blog. Birthday Wishes from Your Daughter - DS4J New Release Feb. 22, 2015

Time for a new release again from Digistamps4Joy and have Margy and Riette ever come up with some wonderful new digis for you to drool over.
My husband's birthday is coming up at the end of the month and my daughter asked me if I could please make her a card to give to her dad. I decided that a Gatefold Easel card would be the perfect type of card for this. I've never done one and thought it would be something unique for my hubby (since he has gotten so many different one's from me over the years lol).
I made the sentiment myself and traced out the inside of my Gold Ivy Nestibility and then pasted that onto a larger octagon cut with my Gold Ivy Nestibility. I then added a couple of leaf swirls and a border done in a separate dp. To these I added some orange/gold rhinestones I had in my stash.
For the inside I used Margy's new image Friends? which I thought was the perfect image for a father/daughter card.
I coloured the image with my new Chameleon pens (so please excuse any bleeding as this was only my second time using them) and then distressed around it with my SU ink. I found some feathers that my mom had given me last year in my stash and figured they would make a nice addition to the card. I embossed the brown dp on the front and sides with a plaid embossing folder by Tim Holtz.
I hope that I have inspired you enough to head on over to our Challenge Blog and check out the rest of the new releases and all of the fabulous creations my team mates have made to delight your senses.

Thanks for looking ~ Charlene

We Love You Mom - DS4J Mid Challenge Reminder

It's that time again, time for another mid challenge reminder for Digistamps4Joy. As you know now, Digistamps4Joy is a monthly challenge and this month our challenge is being hosted by my wonderfully talented team mate Julie Odil. And for this month she has picked the theme of Valentine's/Love. Your entry doesn't have to be a card and it doesn't have to be for a spouce/boyfriend/girlfriend. It can be for anyone that you love.

The card I made is for my mom. This is her first Valentine's Day since we lost my dad last July to cancer and I wanted to do a little something to help her have a happy day.
I used the Digistamps4Joy image Pompom Love and put it onto a free cut file card from Birds Cards. I printed the image with my Silhouette cutting machine using the Silhouette sketch pens...they have a bit of a glittery sheen to them. I then coloured it with my Copic markers.
I fussy cut the image out and pasted it onto a beautiful free heart cut file also by Birds Cards. The hearts that I added my sentiments onto were part of the card cut file. The beautiful dp is from Nana Vic's.

You don't have to use a DS4J image but it sure makes us happy when you do. And if you do use one of our images you will be put into the running for the DT choice prize which is a $10 Gift Voucher. To check out all of my team mates wonderful creations and all of the rules and prizes, head on over to the DS4J Challenge Blog...we can't wait to see what you do.

Thanks for coming by ~ Charlene

Blowing a Kiss Across the Miles

Hi all, today Digistamps4Joy is sponsoring Crafty Gals Corner Challenge Blog and I have the extreme pleasure to be the GDT for their challenge.

The theme for the challenge is Anything Goes which worked just great for me. I decided to use DS4J`s image Butterfly Oval and make a birthday card for my mom. I just love this image and it can be used in so many ways.
I coloured the image with my copic markers (first time using them and I just love how bright the colours are. Still have to learn to shade with them lol). The sentiment is from (well I`ll have to get back to you on that one as I have misplaced the paper I had it written down on...ooops). I layered this on top of a free cut file from Birds Cards.

I added a cut file from Silhouette on the inside to pretty it up. The sentiment on the right hand side is by Any Old Crafts. Sentiment on the inside is by Crafts You Print Free Card Verses.

Thanks so much for stopping in and I hope that you will all head on over to  Crafty Gals Corner and check out what the DT has done to inspire you.

Perking You Up - Digistamps4Joy New Release

It's that time once again, time for another new release day at Digistamps4Joy. As you can probably tell from the video one of the new images has something to do with coffee. When I saw this image this song just kind of popped into my head. When I was young (oh so very long ago) I was in a Vocal Jazz choir and we would sing this song...ah it brought back such good memories.

So the image that I got to play with is by Riette and is actually a set of 2 images and 3 sentiments...such a fabulous deal.
Isn't this great? The set is called Coffee Club and I don't know about you but I have a lot of coffee loving friends and relatives. But you don't even have to know a coffee lover (or tea lover) to use these fabulous images as you will see by the card that I have made. I know someone who is going through a rough time right now and I wanted to make her a Thinking of you type of card. I know, you're thinking "How can she make a thinking of you type of card with those images?" Well look below and you will see.
See what I mean? For my card I used only the coffee cup and changed the feel from coffee or tea to something totally different. I coloured the image with my Prisma Pencil crayons and oms and added some fabulous coffee inspired digital papers.

So now that you've seen what I have done with my image I hope that you will pop on over to our Challenge Blog to check out all of the other incredible images being released today. And while you're there have a look see at the fabulous creations my team mates have made to inspire you.

Feeling a Little Batty?

Hey all, are you feeling a little batty these days? Well if so, then you need to check out the new releases at Digistamps4Joy. And if bats aren't your "cup of tea" then there is another new image that just might be. That's right, it's time for a New Release again at Digistamps4Joy again and have Margy and Riette ever come out with some fabulous new images to delight and inspire you.

The new image that I chose to play with this time is by Margy and called Batty For You. And you guessed it, it is the sweetest little bat you ever did see. Just perfect for those Valentine's Day cards that we all need to get started on now that Christmas is over (never ends does it? lol).
So what do you think, is he not the cutest little sucker (get it? He's a bat so he's a little sucker...yeah I know, my warped sense of humour is coming out again lol) you ever did see? I just fell in love with him and that little heart he's cuddling. I used a Silhouette file to cut the card (and I think I still need practice on my cutter as it didn't turn out quite like I wanted), added some black and red ribbon and little rhinestones I had in my stash and voila...he is done!
I kept the inside pretty CAS with just the sentiment that I did up and punching the little hearts on the corners.

So I hope that I have inspired you, or at least piqued your curiosity, to go head on over to our Challenge Blog and check out all of the fabulous new images. And while you're there check out all of the incredible creations my team mates have made to inspire you.

Thanks for visiting~ Charlene
