Birthday Wishes from Your Daughter - DS4J New Release Feb. 22, 2015

Time for a new release again from Digistamps4Joy and have Margy and Riette ever come up with some wonderful new digis for you to drool over.
My husband's birthday is coming up at the end of the month and my daughter asked me if I could please make her a card to give to her dad. I decided that a Gatefold Easel card would be the perfect type of card for this. I've never done one and thought it would be something unique for my hubby (since he has gotten so many different one's from me over the years lol).
I made the sentiment myself and traced out the inside of my Gold Ivy Nestibility and then pasted that onto a larger octagon cut with my Gold Ivy Nestibility. I then added a couple of leaf swirls and a border done in a separate dp. To these I added some orange/gold rhinestones I had in my stash.
For the inside I used Margy's new image Friends? which I thought was the perfect image for a father/daughter card.
I coloured the image with my new Chameleon pens (so please excuse any bleeding as this was only my second time using them) and then distressed around it with my SU ink. I found some feathers that my mom had given me last year in my stash and figured they would make a nice addition to the card. I embossed the brown dp on the front and sides with a plaid embossing folder by Tim Holtz.
I hope that I have inspired you enough to head on over to our Challenge Blog and check out the rest of the new releases and all of the fabulous creations my team mates have made to delight your senses.

Thanks for looking ~ Charlene

This is an awesome card...out , in , and all over! I've never seen a gate fold that when you open it also looks like a modified easel card as well. I would love to know when you got this pattern. The feathers are a fun surprise. I'm always collecting feathers for cards like this but don't have pretty brown ones like yours. Your daughter I know is thrilled and will love giving to her dad on his special day!
