Birthday Wishes

CDAC has had another round of Progressive Challenges and this time the theme was Summer's Sizzles and so we were given images that make you think of summer. The image that I chose to use for my first and only entry (I have just got to get myself more organized lol) was the Banana Split by Doodle Pantry. My great nephew is turning 5 this year and so I thought it would be the perfect image for a card for him. My dear daughter coloured the image again, with me doing the shading. This time I picked all the papers and embellishments lol.

There's still a few hours to be able to get in on this challenge. To find the images and rules just go here. If you haven't done any of the challenges yet you can buy in for a dollar. That's right, for just a dollar you can join in on all the fun.

Thanks for looking.....Charlene

EXTRA EXTRA READ ALL ABOUT IT....

Extra, extra read all about it....Digistamps4Joy is having another fabulous reveal today and boy do we ever have a incredible bunch of images for you to check out this week. Margy and Jen have been very busy ladies and have 22 new images that have gone into the store. And I gotta tell you, there's a little something for everyone with this group of images.
I was so incredibly lucky with the image that I got sent to play with. Her name is Punkette Prue and she is such an adorable image....I just love her and was so glad that I lucked out and got her. My dd needed a card for her best friend for her birthday and Punkette Prue is perfect for her.
My dd's friend's favorite colours are black and blue so I decided to use some of the blue zebra print from Recollections that I had gotten awhile back...it just seemed like the perfect paper for this fun loving image. Looks kinda like punk meeting goth lol. The black and white swirled paper is by My Mind's Eye, the light blue is from my stash (something I picked up from the dollar store) and the black cs for the base is from Recolletions. I coloured her with my Prisma Scholar pencil crayons and oms.

I used my Madera Corner die by Memory Box for in the corner. I added flowers that I made with little blue flatbacked pearls from Recolletions in the center and then added Perfect pearl drops to the vines. I used my metallic gold pen on the leaves of my vines, the two sentiments on my card and accents on her outfit and boots. The ticker sentiment is from Nana Vic's and says Happy Birthday and the bottom one is one I made up on my computer. I used my scalloped oval die from Nestibilities for the zebra print paper behind her. I also used my Savanah die from Memory box to extend the vines on my corner die on the bottom piece of my card.(the non easel part).

We hope you'll join us in checking out all of our wonderful new images on our challenge blog. While you're at the challenge blog check out all of the fabulous creations that my team mates have come up with and our current challenge....there's still a couple of days to get in on it.

Thanks for looking....hugs ~ Charlene

Digistamps4Joy Challenge #42 - Cute as a Button

Hi everyone, it is once again time for another Digistamps4Joy challenge. The theme of our challenge for this next two weeks is Cute as a Button. Yup, we want you to use a button or buttons on your project! This was a really difficult challenge for me because I just don’t use buttons on my creations. I’ve just never been able to find any that I liked enough to put on my cards. So I took myself down to my local WalMart and bought a nice bag full of different buttons. There were blue one’s and purple, pink, yellow, orange, green…wow…just so many different colors and styles. And guess what, I found some that I liked for my creation. Here’s what I came up with.

The wonderful image I got to play with this time is called Karaoke Kim and I just love her. She's part of our new reveal of images that we had on Sunday. If you haven't been to our store lately, you might want to go and check out all of the incredible images that have been added lately. You can also see all of the images that were released on Sunday on our blog. Karaoke Kim was such a fun image to colour and design a card for. She was just perfect to go with my green leopard print paper from Recolletions that I had bought a while back. I paired that up with some wonderful orange cs from SU and a great dp that was white, orange and pink with music notes on it that I found about a year ago at our local dollar store. I coloured her with my Prisma Scholar pencil crayons and then took my pink metallic gel pen and put notes on her capris and pink squiggles on her top and dots on her shoes and headband. I added a little green flat backed pearl from Recolletions in each corner and used my Scalloped Nestibility to frame her. Instead of making a card with her, this time I decided to do a fat page. If you've never tried one of these you should give it a shot...they're lots of fun and so easy to make. I printed up the sentiment on my computer and added the little notes in the corners with a black marker. The orange ribbon was some I found in the sale bin at Wal-Mart. I distressed around Karaoke Kim with pink pastels from SU.

If you'd like to join us for this fun challenge, just head over to our blog and check out all the rules and prizes. And while you're there, check out all of the incredible creations that my team mates have made.

Thanks for looking.....hugs ~ Charlene

Pattie's Creations Challenge #44

It's time for another fabulous challenge at Pattie's Creations and the theme this time is a Recipe! That's right ladies (and gentlemen if you're dropping in), we have pulled out the recipe book and have a great one for you.

Recipe (Use 3 or more from the List below)

buttons
ribbon
flowers
glitter
charm
sentiment
gems or pearls

I chose flowers, glitter and pearls and a sentiment (or two)for mine. I made a Mother's Day card for my mother in law with one of Pattie's incredible flower images. It's called Morning Glory Seed Pack and you can find it here.
I coloured it with Prisma Scholar pencil crayons and blended with oms. I traced one part of the frame with my gold glitter gel pen (my glitter) and made my own flowers. The vines were made with my Savanah Border by Memory Box and the leaves were made by my Leaves Memory Box die. The pearl spray is from my stash. I used white Perfect Pearls for the centers of my flowers. The pretty white flowers were a gift to me from my dear friend Sharon...thanks Sharon :D.
Isn't this image just beautiful? The fold of this card is called a Double Dutch fold and you can find it here. I wanted a card that stood on it's own so I added the Double Dutch card onto a 5.5x5.5 base. I used 2 sentiments for in my card. One of them is a new one from Digistamps4Joy called Mom (it's the big one inside), and Happy Mother's Day Mom that I did up on my computer.

I used Bassil cs for my base and the dp is Echo Trellis by Victoria Gardens.

If you'd like to join in on our new challenge, all you have to do is make a project using 3 items from the list above and enter it into our inlinkz on our challenge blog. You must have use a stamp on your creation, either a digital one or a rubber one. You don't have to use one of Pattie's images for your creation, but we would sure be tickled if you did. If you don't own one, Pattie has her Freebie of the Month posted on the Blog under Freebie of the Month. You can find all of the rules and list of prizes on Pattie's Challenge Blog here.

Thanks for looking and I hope to see you all entered into our challenge.....

25 Years....and Counting.

Yesterday was my 25th Wedding Anniversary. Yup, for the last 25 years I have been married to this most wonderful man. He is the light of my life and I could not image not being married to him. Twenty five years ago we looked like this
Now we look like this...or close to it lol....
O.K...there seems to be a few extra's added in between us...lol...but that's about what we look like now...minus the big goofy dog between us....now it's a little goofy dog named Molly.
Anyways, to get back to my story, yesterday was my 25th Wedding Anniversary and to mark the occassion I, of course, made my dear husband a card. The image that I chose for this very important card is a new one that is out at Digistamps4Joy. Her name is Miss Mandy and she is the most adorable image. As soon as I saw her I knew that I wanted her for making a card for my hubby.

Isn't she just the sweetest thing? I just love the expression on her face...she such a little imp! The sentiment that I came up with for it is "After 25 years of marriage thoughts of you still give me butterfly's".  Now before you all tell me that I wrote the wrong tense for butterfly's...I already know. Figured it out that it should have been butterflies after I had already glued everything together lol. But my hubby didn't mind, so I left it as is.
I just had to show you a close up of her. I coloured her with Prisma Scholar Pencil crayons and oms. The Sentiments are my own that I did up on my computer. The butterflies and little heart pillow (that looks like our ringbearer pillow...minus all the embellishments on it) were things I've had in my stash. The rhinestone heart and swirls are by Recolletions. The brown base dp is by Coffee Flourish by BoBunny, the blue embossed paper (it's embossed with small dots) is by Bassil. The other dp is Sonnets by Creative Imaginations. And I used my Creative Memory corner punch for the corners. The layout I used is from a sketch challenge at Sunday Sketch & Stamp Blog.

Thanks for coming to my blog and looking.....

Welcome Baby

CDAC is having another Progressive Challenge and I, of course, am running late again lol. This time we had the most adorable images to play with....and they were all about baby's. Which is a good thing because one of my best friend's  daughter is pregnant and due soon so this card will probably be going to her.

I chose to combine 3 of the images that were given to us, the Sock Monkey by Odds & Soxlets, the Stroller by Designed2Delight (we had 3 different strollers given to us), and The Mommy to Be by Mami Doodles. My dd very kindly helped me with this project once again. She coloured the images with Prisma Scholar pencil crayons and I blended everything with oms and added the shading.
The cs is from Recollections and the dp's are from my local dollar store. The Baby sentiment and giraffe are by Forever in Time, also from our local dollar store. The ribbon, which has blue, yellow, pink and green feet on it, is by Offray and I got it at Michaels.
If you'd like to join in on the next challenge, which will be starting soon, just click here and it will bring you to the CDAC Progressive Challenge. Hope to see you there joining in the fun.

Thanks for visiting me.....Charlene

Birthday Dragon

My daughter's best friend has a birthday coming up soon and she wanted to do something special for her. Now her friend loves dragons, red, blue and any prints that are Chinese or Japanese related (she's a big Menga fan) and writing. So she asked me if I had anything that she could use to make her friend something for her. I found a fabulous dragon image from Floppy Latte that she knew her friend would go nuts over it. Then I let her loose in my papers....oh what fun she had! Once she knew the image and papers it was time to decide what to do with them. She decided that a journal would be just the thing to make for her. This is what we came up with (she coloured the image, picked all the papers and embellishments and I put it all together).

She coloured it with Prisma Scholar pencil crayons and I blended it with my oms. The mini roses are from Prisma and the leaves are an oak leaf punch and the vines is Savannah Border by Memory Box dies. The flowers under the mini roses were from my stash. The pearls on the vine are from Recollections and I used Star Dust stickles on the roses. The red and black ribbon was from my stash also. The red and blue cs is from Recollections, the small patterned dp is Boxer from Basic Grey and the other dp is Patchwork dots from g.c.d studios Chianti Collection.

As her girlfriend is not going to be around for her birthday, my dd gave it to her early...and she loved it! :D

Thanks for looking ~ Charlene and Kat

Digistamps4Joy Challenge #41 - An Attitude of Gratitude

Well everyone, the blog hop is over, and we hope that you all enjoyed every stop that you made.

Did you remember to comment on each stop…I sure hope so as I would really like each of you to have had a chance at one of the fabulous prizes that we have.

To see if you’re a winner of one of our fabulous prizes, check out our winners page. Congratulations to all of our winners and thank you to everyone for making this a great hop.

Now I’d like to welcome you to our first challenge on our new Blog and our theme is….An Attitude of Gratitude. We picked this theme for a specific reason…so we could say thank you to a very special person that is huge part of our group. I first met this person on another blog (ssshhhhh) and we talked a bit. But it wasn’t until we were at a few “cyber parties” together that I really got to know her well (she is quite the cyber partier). It was through these parties that I got to know what a wonderfully warm and caring person she is. She is the one that gave me my first shot at being on a DT and has been the one to constantly encourage me when I was unsure of what I had done. She keeps us smiling with her wonderful wit, and ahhhing over her incredible creations. She always has a kind word to say…or a cyber shoulder to cry on. And she is always one of the first to jump in to help when needed. And she is the one that helps to keep us all on track with our projects...and adds so many incredible images to our store (100 now!!). So Jen, this challenge is for you….for all that you have done for all of us at Digistamps4Joy. I am so proud to count you as part of my cyber family.

For my card I chose one of our new images Girl on a Swing. I just loved the look of this image and thought it would make a great thank you card. The style of card is called a Front Pocket card.

I coloured her with my Prisma Scholar pencil crayons and oms...and a little bit of SU brown
felt pen on the branch

This is the sentiment outside of the pocket...it says "One Of A Kind" and "Thank You". The sentiments are stamps by SU. I cut the image and sentiments with my Nestibilities Petite Scalloped Ovals Large. The cs is from Bassil and the Light peach is by Recollections. I took my SU Thank You So Much stamp and stamped it all over the Recollections paper. The dp is by SU. The little roses are by Prisma and a paired them with small oak leaves, small leaves by Jolee by You, and my Savanah border die from Memory Box. The peach flowers under my roses are from my stash. The corner die is called Madera Corner by Memory Box.

I just had to show you a close up of this fabulous image. Now it’s your turn…we’d like to see you create a paper project (it doesn’t have to be a card) that expresses gratitude. It can be a thank you to a wonderful mother, father, teacher…it doesn’t matter. We’d love to see some heartfelt sentiments…anything that says Thanks.
We have a few simple rules and you can find them on our sidebar on the challenge blog. My fellow team mates have been hard at work and having fun creating their spectacular creations to inspire you…so leave them some love please. We can’t wait to see what you create!

Thanks for stopping by…..

Digistamps4Joy First Monthly Freebie!!

On the first Friday of every month Digistamps4Joy will now be giving away a free digital image….and today is the day for our first freebie image! And what a fabulous image it is…now aren’t you glad you decided to pop in?
The image is called Peacock and ,of course, that’s what it is! And you can find this incredible image right here on our blog for free!

The blue cs I believe is by Basic Grey and the green and blue dp is by BoBunny. You can't see it from the picture, but the white dp has a beautiful vine and leaf design embossed on it (I don't know the dp name as it was a scrap). I embossed the blue cs using my Nestibilities M-bossabilities 2 sided folder. The lace is some that I’ve had in my stash forever (my wonderful mil gave it to me). The white ribbon (that says “With Love” on it) is by Offray and I got it at Michaels and the flowers are by Forever in Time and I got those at my local Dollar Store. I cut my leaves with my Memory Box Leaves die and used my Nestibilities Beaded Ovals die for behind my peacock. I coloured my image with my Prisma Scholar pencil crayons and oms and also my gold and blue metallic pens. The blue flat backed pearls are from Recollections.

I used the sketch from Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge for my card.
I just have to show a close up of this great image. Isn't it great?

We hope that we will see you over at our blog to pick up this image, as it's only going to be available for 2 days, from May 4-6th, and after that it will be moved to the store. And while you're there check out what the DT has done with it. You might be inspired to make something with it and enter one of our challenges *smiling*.

Thank you for coming and visiting my blog.

Mother's Day Challenge at Pattie's Creations

Well, another week is over and at Pattie’s Creations we have a very special challenge for you. As you could probably tell by the you tube video, Pattie’s Creations is celebrating Mother’s Day for this challenge. That’s right we want you to make a card to celebrate mom, tell her how much she really means to you. This card can be to your mom, mother in law, maybe a new mom that you know or someone that you've always always considered a mom. The choice is yours...we just want you to celebrate her.
I have 2 wonderful women in my life that I call Mom. The first one is the one that gave me life. She has been there for me through thick and thin and has loved me through it all. I don’t know where I would be without her there to guide me…and catch me when I fell. My mom is not only my mom…but my best friend. My other Mom is my Mother in Law. God truly blessed me when he sent my wonderful husband to me with his mom (and dad lol). It wasn’t hard for me to start calling her mom as that is how she always treated me…like another daughter. And it is my Mother in law that I was thinking of when I made this card.

The image that I used is called Nap Time because I think if anyone deserves a nap, it's a mom! The fold that I used for the card is called a 6 fold card and you can find it here.
This is it partly open to show the verse. And this is it fully open.

The purple cs is by Core'dinations, the purple ds is Sprinkles and Lace Plum by Bella Blvd. and the flowered dp is Graceful Vine by Basic Grey. I colored it with my Prisma Scholar Pencil crayons and oms. I used my Nestibilities Labels One Small to cut out my image and for behind my image. The flowers are by Prisma and the ribbon is from our local dollar store. For the leaves I used my Memory Box Leaves Die.

So now it's your turn to join in. Just make a card dedicated to your Mom or Mother in Law and link it with Mr. Linky on our blog. Now you don't have to use a Pattie's Creations image...but we would sure be tickled pink if you did. And if you use a Pattie's image, you will get an extra entry into our random draw. And you must have either a digital or stamped image on your creation. For full details and rules, check out our challenge blog here. While you're there, check out the fab creations by the rest of the DT...and maybe leave them some love.

Thanks for coming and checking out my blog.....
