Phun 4 Pulmonary Hypertension Blog Hop

Hi all and welcome to the Phight 4 PH (Pulmonary Hypertension) Blog Hop.
I am so happy to have you all come to visit my blog to have some fun, maybe win a prize and learn about this horrible disease. If you have arrived here from the wonderful Amanda P’s blog then you are in the right place, if not why not hop on over to Jackie’s blog to start at the beginning.

Here is the card that I made using Tamara’s, from the Stamping Chef, wonderful Zebra image Pucker Up.

Each one of us have been given a fact about PH for you to read in the hopes of providing a bit of information about the disease and why it is so important to have an early diagnosis. My fact is:Very rarely, PH runs in families and is known as familial pulmonary hypertension.

This is a two day hop with day one being yesterday. There is also going to be a challenge starting up today on Jackie’s Blog Paper Moments at 6 p.m. EST. The theme is to have a periwinkle or purple ribbon on your project. If you would like the image that I have used from the Stamping Chef, please email Tamara at infothestampingchef@mail.com or if you would like the one beautiful image by Simply Betty used by the participants on Saturday, please email Betty at simplyb10@aol.com . Include in your email the answer to the question:  “How many treatments are FDA approved for children with PH?” You will find the answer to this question on one of the blogs.

The order of the blogs for today’s part of the hop are as follows:

Jackie’s Blog – http://papermoments.blogspot.com (beginning)

So your next stop is the wonderful Kerrie. Don’t forget to comment on everyone’s blog for a chance at winning some fabulous prizes. We sincerely hope that you not only have lots of fun on the hop, but learn some incredibly important information that could save yours or a loved one’s life. The Blog Hop will end on Saturday Nov. 16 at 11:59 p.m. EST and the winners will be posted on Jackie’s blog on Nov. 23rd.

Thanks for visiting and good luck ~ Charlene

Digistamps4Joy Challenge #79 - 3DP's and Layers (at least 3)

Hi all, it’s time for another challenge at Digistamps4Joy and this time I got to decide the theme. So I chose  3Designer Papers and lots of layers (at least 3). For my card I decided to use a totally sweet little image called Best Friends. I made this card for my sister for her birthday.

The fold is called a Napkin Fold and you can find the tutorial here. The purple and pink dp and the dark blue with lighter blue swirls dp is by Forever in Time. The dp that I printed the image onto was from Create With TLC as is the “Sister” sentiment. The butterfly ribbon is from my stash and the little stars are by Recollections.

I coloured the image with Crayola Pencil crayons and oms. The rhinestones on the inside are also from my stash.

Now it’s your turn, just head on over to our Challenge Blog and check out all the rules and prizes. And while you’re there take a look at all of the incredible eye candy that my team mates have come up with to inspire you.

Thanks for visiting and hope to see you all in our challenge.

Digistamps4Joy Halfway Reminder

Hi all, it’s time for our half way reminder at Digistamps4Joy. The theme for our current challenge is Emboss, wet or dry, the choice is yours.

I don’t know about any of you, but I have a really hard time making cards for men, so I decided to challenge myself to make a men’s card with embossing. I used the image Juvenile Trio and coloured it with my Crayola Pencil crayons and oms.
I used my Nestibilities Beaded Oval die to cut out a frame in green cs from Recollections. I then took my Cuttlebugs Victoria folder and used my roller to apply SU Close to Cocoa ink onto it. I ran this through my Cuttlebug which gave the oval the embossed look that it has. I did the same thing with a strip of green cs for across the middle. The dp’s are from Basic Grey and the bronze pearls are by Recollections. I distressed around the image with my SU Close to Cocoa and the base is cs by Bazzil.

Thank you for stopping by and we hope to see you joining in our challenge….you still have a week to join in on the fun. To check out the fabulous creations my team mates have come up with to inspire you and our challenge rules and prizes, just head on over to our Challenge Blog.

Digistamps4Joy New Release Sunday Oct. 20

Hi all, it's time for a new release again at Digistamps4Joy. My team mates and I got to play with a real sweetie this week called Mila Dance Recital drawn by our own Jen Leeflang. She was just so much fun to play with.
The digital paper that she's printed onto is from Lilac and Lavendar. I cut out the blue square she's mounted on using my Nestibilities Decorative Labels One. The circle (that I cut in half) was cut using my Nestibilities Rounds. I embossed the circle with Spellbinders Reversible Embossing Folder Enchanted Design A.
The rhinestone swirls are Recollections Bling on a Roll and the lg rhinestones on the top right side are from my stash. The sentiment is from Desert Diva and the base is my Kraft cs by Recollections. I coloured the image with my Crayola pencil crayons and oms and added some Stickles Waterfall to her neckline. The small diamond rhinestones on the sentiment are from Forever In Time.

Thanks for stopping by and please head on over to the Digistamps4Joy Challenge Blog to check out the rest of the releases and all of the incredible cards of inspiration from my team mates.

Wedding Bells are Ringing

Hi all, Hobby Cutz is having a fabulous challenge starting today and Digistamps4Joy is sponsoring it.  The theme of the challenge is Weddings and I got to be their GD for it. This worked out pretty good for me as I just had to make a wedding card for my brother in law and his new wife.  I decided to use Digistamps4Joy’s image To Have and To Hold as I think it is just so elegant and timeless looking.
I decided to use Digistamps4Joy’s image To Have and To Hold as I think it is just so elegant and timeless looking. I’ve coloured it with my Crayola pencil crayons and oms and added Star Dust Stickles to her earings, necklace and bracelet. The border was made using my Memory Box – Meridian Border and the image is fussy cut and pop dotted onto paper I cut out with my Memory Makers ovals. I used dark purple cs from Bazzil and paired it up with some paper called Perfect Prints by Forever In Time (Dollar store paper pack). The white dp (it has vines embossed on it) is called Vine White and is by Making Memories. The little purple hearts are also by Forever In Time as is the centers of the flowers and the little crystal type flowers and swirls. The paper flowers and ribbon are one’s that I had in my stash.

I used Digistamps4Joy’s Brush stroke Frame to frame the sentiment that I found on Splitcoast Stampers. The sentiment on the front is by Digital Doodling.

Thanks for looking and I hope to see you all join in at Hobby Cutz for this fabulous challenge. To check out the challenge, rules and all of the incredible creations the DT has made for your viewing pleasure, just click here

Digistamps4Joy Recycle plus a Snowflake Challenge

It’s that time again, time for the mid way reminder for Digistamps4Joy. This time our challenge is to make a project that uses something that is recycled. There is also a twist…the twist is to add a snowflake somewhere on it. So there you go…time to start getting some of those Christmas cards. For my card I decided to use Mr. Snowman. For the recycled part of my card I used a snowflake Christmas tree ornament, the small snowflakes are part of a tree garland and the glitter paper is left over from a project I did last Christmas!
I coloured the image with my Crayola pencil crayons and oms. I added Star Dust Stickles on the hat and ground. I used an old sketch from Sketchbook Saturday for my layout. I used a swirl from SU for the swirl in behind my snowflake and embossed it with my Tinsel Embossing powder. The sentiments on the front and inside are from Desert Diva.
Now it’s your turn to join in on the fun. We would so love to see what you come up with. You don’t have to use a digital from Digistamps4Joy, but we would be so excited if you did…and there’s also an extra something for those who do. To find all the prizes and rules, just head to Digistamps4Joy’s Challenge Blog.

Thanks for looking…hope to see you all there.

Marshmellows Roasting on an Open Fire

Hi everyone, I’m back again with another creation for Digistamps4Joy. This is a card that I made for our World Card Making Day Blog Hop…if you haven’t joined in the fun, there is still time as the end has been postponed until Friday Oct. 11. For more info on the hop please go here. For the rest of you that have already joined in the Hop, I hope that you all enjoyed hopping through all our blogs and I wish you all luck on winning one (or more) of our fabulous prizes.

Now I invite you to grab a drink and pull up a chair cause this posting will be a bit on the longer side. The challenge for our Blog Hop was to make a card that embodies our country…or some aspect of it. Now I know when most people think of Canada they think “Great White North”. And while we can get some pretty wicked winters here (mostly east of where I live), we also have some of the most beautiful weather and scenery around. I live on the west coast of British Columbia in an area known as the Fraser Valley. You will find a lot of farmland around here surrounded by the Coastal Mountain range. Abbotsford, a city a half hour west of me, is known as the Berry Capital of Canada and hosts the Abbotsford International Airshow every summer. We also have some of the most beautiful countryside, lakes and the ocean, for camping (check out my pics in the right hand side bar). And camping is something my family and I have been doing most of our lives. So I decided that a camping card was just the thing to make. I started out with the image CampingTime and then fussy cut out Misteri Toasting Marshmellows to add in front of it. I just love this new Misteri image as toasting marshmellows over an open fire is one of my favourite things to do while camping…that and singing campfire songs.

I coloured the images with my Crayola pencil crayons and oms. The embellishments are by Jollie and Recollections. I also made my own embellishments with some extra paper for the corners on the bottom of the easel card.
I made the leaves with my Spellbinders Little Leaf set dies. The marshmallow dp is Happy Camper by Moxie. Unfortunately I cut off the bottom of the other piece of dp and I have no idea who it is by, but I think that it was a BoBunny paper.

Thanks for coming and looking at my card.

 Hugs ~ Charlene

You will find us camping in the spring, summer, winter and fall. So of course I just had to make a card about one of my favourite past times while camping...roasting marshmellows over an open fire!

I used 2 different images from Digistamps4Joy for my card, Misteri Toasting Marshmellows and Camp Time. I coloured them with my Crayola Pencil Crayons and oms.

Now for the Prizes….
Each individual blog along the way has used an image that you can win. Mine is Misteri Toasting Marshmellows.

I Can Get You On the Naughty List

Hey everyone, it's time for another New Release day at Digistamps4Joy and we have a little sweetheart to show you today. As you all know, there is only 87 days left until Christmas...I know, bite my tongue and quit scaring you right? But as there is only 87 days left it is time to start thinking about all of those wonderful Christmas cards that we need to get done. And if you're like me the year has totally gotten away from you again and there is not a Christmas card to be found. Well Digistamps4Joy has a cure for that...at least it has an image to help you get started. The image that my teammates and I got to work with this time is called Misteri Santa's Secret...and let me tell you, if she's Santa's secret Mrs. Clause better never find out!!! She is the sexiest little Santa's helper you ever did see. But don't take my word...have a look and see.
See what I mean...oooh you bad ol' Santa lol. I decided to make something a bit different. It's a Hot Apple Cider/Hot Chocolate holder. Me, I like the hot apple cider, but it can hold hot chocolate for those of you that prefer. I coloured her with my Crayola pencil crayons and oms and added some beautiful blue stickles to her hat and outfit. I coloured her big hoop earings with my gold glitter pen. The sentiment I got as a freebie from Create With TLC.
The paper is some that I had in my stash that was given to me so I'm not sure who it's by but the cs is by Bazzil. The ribbon and gifts are some that I picked up at my local dollar store...they're a light weight foam.

Now head on over to our blog and check out all of the rest of the gorgeous creations that have been released...and all of the fab projects my teammies have come up with.

Thanks for looking ~ Charlene

Midway Challenge Digistamps4Joy Colour Challenge with a Twist

Hi all, I'm back again with another fabulous challenge for you over at Digistamps4Joy. We are at the one week reminder time and so it is Team B's chance to show you what we've done. The challenge is a colour challenge with a twist...so here's the photo inspiration
And now the twist...we would like you to add some twine or ribbon to your project.

For this challenge I decided to use Margy's beautiful image Protea to make a Sympathy card for a friend of the family. I layered Margy's image onto the Lord Is My Shephard (will have to get back to you on where I got that image as I can't remember at this time lol.)
I coloured it with my Crayola pencil crayons and oms and then distressed it with Blue Bayou from SU. The lilies were a gift from my friend Tee (thanks Tee) and the Prisma roses, ribbon and rhinestones were from my stash. I gathered the ribbon with a small peach coloured brad.
The cs is by Bazzil and I embossed the peach with a border embossing plate from Cricut. The circle swirl is a die from Memory Box called Whimsy Circle.

Now it's your turn to join in the fun. Just head on over to the Digistamps4Joy Challenge Blog for a list of the rules and what fabulous prizes we have...and don't forget to check out all of the incredible cards that my teammates have made for your viewing pleasure.

Thanks for looking

You Decorated My Life

Hi all, it’s that time again (and I know that you have all been waiting all week with bated breath)…time for the New Releases again at Digistamps4Joy, and Jen has really outdone herself once more.

This week my teammates and I had the pleasure of playing with Jen’s new image MisteriArtist. She was so much fun to work with….she really lets your imagination go :D
When I first saw her the first thing that went through my mind was Kenny Roger’s song “You Decorated My Life”. My husband and I danced one of our first waltz’s at our wedding to this song. So I thought…hmmmm….anniversary card? Then I found, in my stash, the most incredible paper that I had picked up on a bidding wars site. The colour of the dp is plum with these fabulous white glittery splashes on it…looks like someone took a brush with glitter paint on it and flung it on a canvas. The plum colour was dark enough I figured it would be o.k. for a guy card.
I started off with some freebie black and white dp that I got from Bearly Mine, layered on Margy’s Brushstroke Frame and then added Jen’s Misteri Artist. I coloured everything with my Crayola crayons and oms and then I fussy cut the whole thing out. I added blue ribbon with star shaped stick on’s on it and red ribbon on either side of it to the base. I then attached my images to the base with pop dots. The clear blue pearls on the frame I found in my stash. I outlined my sentiment with my red glitter pen.

Thanks for stopping in, now head on over to Digistamps4Joy’s Challenge Blog and check out all of the fabulous creations that my teammates made as well as all of the rest of the incredible images being released today.

Digistamps4Joy New Release for Sept. 15th

Hi all…yup, I’m back. I know, it’s been forever since I last posted anything. Unfortunately life had taken an unforeseen turn for me and I have not been able to do my crafting…and boy have I been missing it! But enough about me and more about what you are here for…Digistamps4Joy’s New Release! And what a release we have for you today, these new images are going to just blow your socks off. And this is a very special release as Jen Leeflang  has just finished drawing her 500th image for Digistamps4Joy!!! Congratulations Jen…not only is that a fabulous accomplishment but we sure have loved playing with all of your incredible images. I’m sure that I am not the only one that looks forward to seeing what you come up with for your next 500 J

So now that I’ve gotten you all hyped up, it’s time to show you the incredible image that I got to play with. Her name is Mysteri as a Scarecrow and she is just the cutest/sexiest scarecrow you ever did see.

I decided to go with a Fall Themed Thank you card for some wonderful friends of my parents. The card is a sidestep card and you can find the instructions to it here. The cs for the base is by Bazzil and the dp is Shades of Autumn by Reminisce…this is a gorgeous double sided paper that has a pumpkin patch on one side and glorious fall coloured leaves on the other. I used the pumpkin patch for the step part of the card and the leaves side was cut with my Floral Ovals Nestibilities to display Misteri as a Scarecrow. I coloured her with my SU felts…except for her skin which was done with my Crayola Pencil crayons and oms. . I then sponged around her with my SU More Mustard ink.

The cat on the bail of hay and the cornstalks behind him, as well as the fence were pictures on a sheet of dp called Apple Cider by BoBunny that I fussy cut out to add as my embellishments. The sentiment is one the I had in my stash as well as the little diamond shaped rhinestones on the Nestibilities frame. The pumpkins and vines were given to me a few years ago by my wonderful friend Marla…thanks so much Marla J

Now that you’ve seen what I have done, head on over to Digistamps4Joy and check out all of the incredible creations that my teammates have come up with…and all of Jen’s new and fabulous images.

Thanks for looking ~ Charlene
