Hey all, hope you're all having a great weekend. Weather is overcast and yucky here...for the 5th day in a row. I am so hoping to be able to see some sun again soon. Today's card is done for the
Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge, MMSC over on the CDAC. The card I did is for a friend's birthday and the image is from
A Day for Daisies. She is the cutest little fairy you ever did see. So the sketch challenge this time was your choice. You could make it fancy, CAS or somewhere in between. These are the sketches that were offered.
I chose to do the make it fancy sketch. I just thought that it looked so, well, fancy! lol
So I've done a couple of things that I've never done before with this card. First off, for the background paper I used a really nice thick origami paper. I just loved the look and texture of it. And then I "colored" the image with metallic watercolor paints that my wonderful friend Kelly gave me. I've never tried doing an entire image in metallic water paints. O.K...so it's not entirely in watercolor...her skin is done with Prisma Scholar pencil crayons and oms, but the rest of it is watercolors. I used 2 different colors of blue for her and added "layers" of it to give the look of shading. It didn't go exactly as planned, but I'm pleased with the effect anyways. Her hair is done with the metallic gold.
For my embellishments I used presticky rhinestones and little flower "cups" that I added liquid pearl into.
