Oh man, have you ever had one of those days? You know the one's where the day seems to be going by so slowly and then bam! Time speeds up into hyper drive. That seems to be what happened to me today. Got onto my computer tonight after dinner and started catching up with emails and downloading cards onto my facebook page and the next thing you know it's after 11 and I haven't gotten my posting done for Digistamps4Joy's New Release Sunday.
Margy has come up with some totally adorable images for this Sunday's Release and us lucky DT members were given 2 of them! We could make a card with one or both of them. Well my inspiration seems to have taken a walk about (I would love to go to Australia so I figure that my inspiration just went there without me) so I only managed to do one. I chose to make a card with the image "New Home" and omg it is just the sweetest thing. I started out with a sketch from Stampin Royalty
Then chose my color scheme from this weeks Tuesday Color Challenge at The Outlawz, picked by Ursula
And this is what I came up with
Now is that just not the sweetest little mouse peaking out from that ol' boot? I used up some dp from my stash (bits and pieces), Close to Cocoa cs from SU and Close to Cocoa ink to distress my image and sentiment. I colored the image with my Crayola pencil crayons and oms and added the flower and gem swirls (bought at my local dollar store). The edge punch is from Martha Stewart (sorry I don't know the name because I got it second hand) and I used another Martha Stewart border punch to make the leaves (just cut them off the stem). Added a bit of green Recollections stickles to the leaves and it was done :D
I hope that you will head on over to our Challenge Blog and check out the rest of the new releases and the fabulous creations that my team mates have made to inspire you.
Thanks for visiting ~ Charlene

The Morning After
CDAC
is having another Progressive Challenge and this time, now don’t fall of your
seats, I’m not getting mine done and in at the last second! I know, total
shocker stopper isn’t it? And I think I might actually even be happy with what
I did! Sorry…didn’t mean to shock you so much at once.
The
image that we were given to play with this time is by Priscilla Styles and OMG…it
is just the best! We had a choice of 3 styles of the same image….Halloween Cat,
Lazy Cat or Christmas Cat. So since the big HOHOHO time is coming around quick…and
I don’t do Halloween cards and frankly Lazy just might have given me some
baaaad ideas…I picked Christmas!
The
cs is from SU and the dp is from Forever In Time Scrapbook Collection. The
small red flat blacked pearls are from my stash. I coloured it with my
Staedtler pencil crayons and oms and my gold, red, blue and green gel pens. I added
Digistamps4Joy’s Light String on the green cs behind my Christmas Cat image and
I coloured the lights with my gold, green, red, pink and blue gel pens. I added
stickles for the snow in the window and the falling snow and on the cat’s hat.
I added red glitter glue onto my poinsettia’s. I used my SU ticket corner punch
in the corners and added my Meridian Border from Memory Box.
Thanks
for visiting ~ Charlene

Countdown to Christmas
Yup, you heard right….Digistamps4Joy is having a Countdown to Christmas! And whenever I think of Christmas, I think of this wonderful song and show. Don't you just love Bing singing this? It also reminds me of how many times I've said to myself "I really need to start doing up my Christmas cards early", and then I don't lol. Well if you're like me, here’s your chance to get a jumpstart on the season!
I was lucky enough to get the cutest image to work with. It’s called Giraffe – Christmas hat and you can find it here. The challenge is to make a Christmas card or project and have lots of snow and ice.
Now I’m not sure what the name of the fold of this card is, but I found the instructions for it here at my wonderful friend Karen's blog. She came up with this fold herself and I am so grateful that she did cause it was perfect for what I wanted to do.
This is what it looks like from the front. To make this card I used a piece each of Red and Blue spot embossed paper by Bazzil. I colored my image and the sky behind it using Prisma Scholar pencil crayons and oms. I stamped and embossed two trees from SU and cut them out. I also embossed my Merry Christmas sentiment and the snow in behind my giraffe image. The embossing powder that I used for everything is called Christmas Tinsel and not only is it white, but it has glitter in it so that when the light hits it, it flashes a bunch of different colors....just like when the sun hits snow.
I punched the snowflakes out of glitter paper from my stash. The icicles I got from Public Domain Clip Art and can be found here. The snowflake "ribbon" is from my stash.
The rules for the challenge are simple, make a card or project with a Christmas theme to it. Be sure to have lots of ice and snow. There will be a random winner and then a DT choice. You don't have to use a Digistamps4Joy image to win the random win, but you must use one to win the DT choice. For full contest rules and to join in, just click here. And while you're checking out the rules and fab prizes, check out the incredible creations that my fellow DT members have made!
This is such a fun challenge and I hope to see you all there!

Digistamps4Joy is going Red, White and Blue
It’s here….it's finally here…. the day that I post my first ever DT project for Digistamps4Joy! And have we ever got something special planned for you today!
As most of you probably know, July 4th is Independence Day in the United States , so to celebrate we have been challenged to make a project using the colors Red, White and Blue. Your project doesn’t need to be something celebrating July 4th, just something with the colors Red, White and Blue on it. Now how easy is that?
I was so excited with the image that I got to play with for this challenge. She is called Kimono Girl and she is just gorgeous…well don’t take my word for it, see for yourself!
Was I right or was I right? When I saw her I just knew that I wanted to give her a really beautiful outfit. So I paper pieced her outfit, shoes and the Chinese lanterns, from Crafty Anne’s, using an incredible origami paper (warning…make sure that the origami paper is of lighter colors or you won’t be able to see what you have to cut out lol). I also took a blue piece of origami paper and paper pieced the tie around her waist.
For the dp behind her I made my own using the lantern and cs from SU. I colored the tops and bottoms of the lanterns with my gold Gelly Roll pen. The base cs is from Bazzil's Wedding line.
Now I’ve told you what the challenge is, but you’re probably wondering if you have to use a Digistamps4Joy image and what about prizes. Well we have some fantasitc prizes to be won. One person will be chosen by random.org to win 3 digital images of their choice from the store! You don't need to use a DS4J image to win this prize, but we would be so excited if you did. And there will also be a DT choice award (this prize can only be won by using a Digistamps4Joy image). This winner will receive a $6 gift voucher! We’ll also be picking 2 more people that we feel deserve to be in our top 3. For all of the rules and to check out the fabulous creations of my teammates, please head over to the Digistamps4Joy Challenge Blog here.
Hope to see you join in the fun!!
