With a corncob pipe and a button nose
And two eyes made out of coal
Frosty the snowman was a fairytale they say
He was made of snow but the children know
How he came to life one day...
Hi all, it's that time of year again, time for carolers, hot chocolate or hot apple cider, nights spent cuddling on the couch watching all of the old and new Christmas movies...you get the idea...Christmas is coming!!! It is also my turn to host our challenge at DS4J and so I have chosen Christmas as the theme. Christmas has always been my favorite time of year, I love all of the carols and time spent doing traditional things. Every year my dad would set up the Christmas tree and all of us kids would gather around to decorate it. It was such a wonderfully fun family time that I incorporated it into our family traditions for my family. This year is going to be a tough one for our family as it will be the first one since my dad's passing, but my husband and I are determined that it is going to be a good one.
Every year with the first snow my siblings and I would go outside to build a snowman...and have snowball fights, build snow caves, you name it. If it was outside it was what we wanted to do it. So in memory of those fabulous times spent with my siblings and then my own children building snowmen I decided to use DS4J's Mr. Snowman.
I used a free cutting file from Birds Cards as my background. I then printed up my Mr. Snowman and coloured him with Prisma Pencil Crayons and oms. I added red glitter glue for his buttons and the trim of his hat, black glitter glue for his hat and star dust stickles for the snow and cutting file snowflakes. I cut out snowflakes to use as flowers using my Impression Obsession snowflake dies and punched out holly with my Martha Stewarts Holly punch.
We hope that you will join us in our challenge. It runs from Wednesday November 26 to Tuesday December 9th. We have some fabulous prizes to be won by those using DS4J image or other images. If you use a DS4J image you will be put into the running for a $10 Gift Voucher to the store...now wouldn't that be a great Christmas gift? So head on over to our Challenge Blog and check out all the wonderful prizes and rules. And while you're there check out the fabulous creations that my team mates have created to amaze and inspire you. We can't wait to see what you come up with!
