Hi all, I'm back again, but this time I am just showing an image that I coloured. The image is by Heather Valentin of Lacy Sunshine. OMG...she has the most adorable images. Right now she had a challenge happening on her Facebook page Lacy Sunshine's Colour and Craft Club. The challenge is a colouring challenge where you are given a pallet and you colour an image with that pallet...and it is between 2 teams...Team Heather (the one I went with) and Team Jackie.

So the colour palette for Team Heather is as follows:
Image may contain: food

I didn't have the exact colour for the yellow/gold/ yellow green so hopefully they will accept the one that I had. Blue was also put in as a colour after this was posted. A Lacy Sunshine image is required for this challenge. The idea is to make the image look like Christmas, even if it isn't a Christmas image (like if you decide to use a mermaid). The image that I chose is a Christmas image...it is called Rory's Christmas Poinsettia. I loved this image as soon as I saw it. You can find this sweet image at Heather's Store here. #LSChristmasinjuly Team Heather.
I coloured her with a combination of my Copics, Chameleon pens and my white pen. I'm hoping to get this onto a card in the near future as it is too cute to just leave in a drawer somewhere. I hope that I have inspired you to drop in to join in on the fun.

Thanks for stopping by,

Charlene

Hi all, wow, it has been so long since I was last on my blog. A lot has been happening since then. We put our townhouse up for sale, sold it, bough a new house and built a suite in it for my mother in law. We got everyone moved in and started working on figuring out how to put 1744 sq. ft. of stuff into just over 1400 sq. ft...needless to say I am doing a lot of purging. I have been patiently (read this as chomping at the bit) for my husband and son to bring my crafting tables and storage up to my new crafting area...and they finally did it last weekend...yippee!! I have been able to start unloading all of the many boxes of my crafting supplies...just to find out that I am missing the box with my Cricket and the cable for my Silhouette machine. OMG...I never realized how much I depended on these things for making my cards. But, I had to make a card for my daughter's birthday so...I had to do it old school...yikes!! No die cuts, or anything cut using my Silhouette...just whatever I could do with my paper cutter.

The image is from Conie Fong Art and Design called Molly Fairy. I won her in a name this image contest held by Conie. I coloured her with my Koh-I-Noor pencil crayons (can't wait to find my Prisma pencil crayons). I don't think she turned out too bad but I sure have forgotten a lot over the last months...it's like having to start all over again. Hopefully it will all start coming back to me as I continue.

I will have to get back to you on who the sentiment is by as my computer and external hard drive are not playing nice together.

Thanks so much for stopping to visit me again.  I hope that I will be on here a lot more in t he near future.

Believe in the Miracle of Christmas

Hi all, I hope that you all had a wonderful Christmas. Mine was a very busy one with my mom here from out of town and 10 people for dinner in my little townhouse. But, crowded though it was, we had a great time. We are now looking forward to New Years Eve and the start of a new year. We wish you all a fabulous upcoming year filled with love, laughter and prosperity.

Today starts a new challenge at the Outlawz Twisted Thursday Challenge. It is my favorite type of challenge...Anything Goes...and the twist is...Anything Goes! I have the great privilege of being a Guest Designer for this challenge that is being sponsored by PPinkyDolls. If you haven't checked out Chris Hanthi's images you should head over there and do so.

The image that I had to play with is called Cold Days. I just loved this image, the little dog on it reminds me of my own little dog Molly. And it was so much fun to colour and design a card for. I paired my card with a Stampin' Up sentiment that I have. The sentiment on the front of the card is a freebie I got from Crafty Cat 957.

I used dp and cs that I had in my stash. I know that the cs is from Bazzil but not sure about the dp. I cut out the frame for the inside using my Nestibilities Decorative Labels One. The poinsettia flourish is from my Spellbinders Holiday Set. I made the Christmas tree using a tutorial that I found on line here. The card fold is called a Tunnel card, unfortunately I can't find the tutorial for this again.

We hope that you will join us at The Outlawz Challenges for Twisted Thursday. You do have to become a member but no worries, it's free.

Thanks for visiting my blog ~ Charlene

A Beary Merry Christmas

Hi all, I'm back again with another adorable image. This time my image is from Art by Barb. The image was offered free on Kit and Clowder recently and Art by Barb has an awesome challenge that you can enter it in. You can still get the image on Kit and Clowder and enter the challenge until Dec. 12. If you missed the image as a freebie, you can always pick it up in her online store and while you're there check out all of her other incredible images.

The image is called Bearing Gifts and is just so sweet. I decided to make a gatefold card with it to give to my husband's boss and his wife for Christmas...they loved it.

The base of the card is a celery colour by Bazzil. My Santa dp is something I picked up at my local dollar store and the vine die's and poinsettia's are from my Spellbinders Holiday set. I coloured the image with a combination of my Chameleon Markers and Copic Markers. I added some Star Dust Stickles to the hats and some rhinestones that I had in my stash. The sentiment is by Michelle Perkett Studio.

Thanks for visiting ~ Charlene

I'm back!!

Hi all, I know, it's been a long time since I last posted. Life has had quite a few ups and downs lately. But I'm back and hopefully this will be the first of many new posts.

The Outlaws Challenges is having a progressive freebie challenge and the fabulous image has been provided by Di's Digi Designs and is called Sunflower Mouse. This image is just too cute for words and as soon as I saw it I knew that I had to make a card for my mother in law's upcoming birthday with it.
Isn't it just the most adorable image? So I scoured the internet and found that fabulous dp at Lilac-n- Lavender . I printed the image on white cardstock, colored it with my Chameleon pens and then fussy cut it and glued it onto the dp. The ribbon and rhinestones were in my stash.
This is the inside of the card again using the paper I found at Lilac-n-Lavender and with sentiments by Nana Vic's Digitals.

If you would like to join in on The Outlaws Progressive Challenge you can join them here. You will have to become a member but it's free and they even have a few freebie images!

Thanks for popping in ~ Charlene

Anniversary Wishes

Wow, it's been quite a long time since I was last on here. Thank you for having patience with me as I have been spending the last few months just being with my family. My crafting time has been down to pretty much nothing lately but I am hoping that that is going to change soon. I think I may have finally started getting some of my inspiration back again...keep your fingers crossed.

So my mother in law and father in law just celebrated their 59th Anniversary recently...59 years, wow! Not many people can say that they have been happily married for that many years. My parents made it to their 60th Anniversary and what a wonderful milestone it was. So of course I had to come out of hibernation and make a card for the in laws. I started out with a card cut file freebie from Birds Cards called a Swirly Deep Edged Card that I cut using my Silhouette. I then added this adorable freebie bride and groom by Jade Dragonne at Deviant Art.

I coloured the image with my Chameleon pens (please excuse the guy's face...I had a problem lol). I added ribbon from SU and little rhinestones in my stash. The yellow cs is by Bazzil, the white is Recollections and the dp is also from Deviant Art. The sentiment is my own made with some of the words from the Anniversary song. The fancy square behind the image is from my Nestibilities Labels One Small.
The corners on the inside were punched with a Martha Stewart punch...not sure what it's called as I got it second hand. I found this wonderful sentiment for the inside on Splitcoast Stampers. Thank you so much for popping in. Hugs ~ Charlene

Challenges Entered:

Crafty Friends Challenge: Challenge #16 - Gems and/or Pearls

Digistamps4Joy Mid Challenge Reminder for Challenge #113

Hi all, it's time for the mid challenge reminder at Digistamps4Joy. For those who don't know, Digistamps4Joy is now an Anything Goes with a optional twist monthly challenge. Our challenges run from the 1st of every month to the last day of every month.

This will also be my last challenge as a DT member for DS4J. It was an extremely difficult decision but with the loss of my dad and sister last year and other family members with health issues this year, I feel that it is time for me to say good bye. I have so enjoyed being a part of this fabulous team with such an incredible 'boss'. They have been like a family to me and have seen me through many trying times over the last couple of years. So I would like to say a very heartfelt thank you to them.

Now that the mushy stuff is over, the theme for this month's challenge is Anything Goes with the the optional twist of Spring! The image that I used is called 'Spring has Sprung'. It is such an adorable image and I have been wanting to use it for awhile now.
The designer paper is from Graphics 45 and the CS is by Recollections. The cut file topper is a freebie from Birds Cards. The flowers in the right corner are made with a program from Silhouette and the roses and pearls are from my stash. I coloured that adorable image with my Crayola pencil crayons and oms. I added a few white highlights with my white gel pen.
Now it's your turn to show us what you've got. You are not required to use a DS4J image but if you do not only does it bring a smile to our faces, but you have the chance on winning the DT choice prize of a $10 Gift Voucher to DS4J! How awesome is that? You have until June 30th to join us so why don't you head on over to our Challenge Blog to check out all of the rules and prizes. And while you're there check out the fab creations that my team mates have created to delight and inspire you.

Thank you to those of you who have been faithfully following me over the years, I hope to still see you popping in. And for those of you who are new, thanks for popping in and I hope to see you again.

Thanks ~ Charlene

Graduation Celebration - DS4J New Release Sunday June 14, 2015

Hi all, it's time for a new release again at Digistamps4Joy. I got to play with one of Margy's new images and I have to admit, I have always wanted an image like this one. It's a cameo called 'Cameo Lady'. I have always thought that cameo's are just so elegant and this one does not disappoint.
I used a card cutting file from Birds Cards. I just loved the butterfly's and thought they would look nice with the cameo image. I coloured her with my Chameleon pens and added green 'gems' on her as well as on the frame around the image using my green metallic gel pen. The CS is by Recollections and the DP by SU.
The sentiments inside is a freebie from Docrafts. I used my Nestibilities Scalloped Square for the frame for my sentiment on the inside and a Memory Keepers punch for the corners of my sentiment on the front.

I hope that I have inspired you enough to head over to our Challenge Blog and check out the rest of the images being released today and also check out the incredible creations my team mates have made.

For Dad - Digistamps4Joy New Release May 17, 2015

Hi all, it's time for Digistamps4Joy's new releases once again. Riette has been very hard at work to bring us some beauties once again.

The image that I got to play with is called 'Life Saver' and was the perfect image to go with Margy's image 'Lake Malawi'.
I merged the two images and then coloured them with my Chameleon pens. I added white highlights on the water with my white gelly pen.
I hope that you will head on over to our Challenge Blog and check out the other wonderful images the Riette has done up to entice you. And while you're at it, check out the fab creations that my teammies have come up with and our current challenge...the theme is Buttons, Bows and Bling! Hope to see you there.

Buttons, Bows and Bling...Oh My

Bows and buttons and bling, oh my. It's time for the mid challenge reminder at Digistamps4Joy and this month Sara has chosen the theme of Bows, buttons and bling. Whoo whee...what a fabulous combination.

For my card I chose to use an image from the last new image releases. It's called Swing. I tried a new fold that is called a Peek a Boo card and you can find the video tutorial here and the written tutorial here.

The dp on the outside is a new one from Nana Vic's (thanks Vickie).
I coloured the image with my Chameleon pens and made up my own sentiment.

When you open the card the sentiment slides into place in front of the image.
Please excuse the pictures, I just could not get the colours to go right. The real colour of the inside paper is the photo above.

I hope that I have inspired you to join our challenge. You have until Sunday May 31st to join us. You are not required to use a Digistamps4Joy image but if you decide to use one not only will we be tickled pink but you will also have a chance at winning the DT choice which is a $10 Gift Voucher! How great is that?

So head on over to our Challenge Blog and check out all the rules and prizes...and all of my team mates incredible creations. We hope to see you join us in our challenge.

Popping In - DS4J Mid Challenge Reminder

It's time for another mid point reminder at Digistamps4Joy and our challenge this month is being hosted by Tonnie and she has chosen a sketch.

The image that I chose to use is called The "O" Look. This is a coloured image, which is really good because time sort of got away from me on this challenge lol. I have to admit, I have never used a coloured image before but oh man, I am definitely going to be looking into getting more. I love to colour but these images are so handy to have when you need a card in a hurry.
This card was probably one of the easiest one's I have ever done. I had the sketch and the coloured image so all I had to do was decide on papers, etc. The dp's were pieces that I had left over from other projects so I can't give you a name for them (sorry) but the base is a dark brown by Bazzil. I added some rhinestones picked up at my local dollar store. I wrote the sentiment with a brown embossing pen and then added clear embossing powder and heated it up.

I hope that you will pop on over to our Challenge Blog and check out all of my team mates fabulous creations and join in on our challenge. We have some wonderful prizes for our winners. You don't have to use a Digistamps4Joy image to join in but if you do you will be in the running for the DT choice prize which is a $10 Gift Voucher to our store...how fabulous is that?

Thanks for popping by ~ Charlene

A Little Birdie Told Me....

Hi all, for once I am not showing a card that I have made for a challenge for DS4J...but I am going to be showing you a new image of theirs that came out a couple of weeks ago. I am also going to be showing you a new digital paper line from Nana Vic's. So go grab yourself a cup of something and sit back, this is going to be a bit of a longer post.

When first saw the image and the paper I knew that I had to make a card with them both. The hard part was colouring the image...not because it is a difficult image to colour but because I am still learning to use my Chameleon pens. I love them but they do take a bit to get used to when you have rarely used alcohol markers lol.

So the image is called Bird Bath and the papers are called Shabby Chic, but there is nothing shabby about them. I absolutely love how they look with my project. They come in 4 different colours but for my card I used the blue.
I used some sky paper that I found online at Picphotos.net and printed my image out on it. I cut out the image and mounted it onto my Nestibilities Floral Oval. I cut out the pinstriped digital paper and the flowered digital paper with flowers and hearts using my Nestibilities Romantic Rectangles.

I just love that image and these papers together. The green flourishes to the side of the images are from my Cherry Lynn Designs Mini Fanciful Flourish die cut. I found the tutorial for this card at Cards, Crafts, Kids Projects. This is what it looks like from different angles....

Thanks for stopping in and I hope that I have managed to inspire you in some small way ~ Charlene

Fly Me to the Moon...Digistamps4Joy New Release

Fly me to the moon
Let me play among the stars
Let me see what spring is like
On Jupiter and Mars.....

Hi all, it's time for another new release from Digistamps4Joy and do we ever have some more fabulous images to show you. I have to tell you, I don't know why, but every since I saw this image that I got to play with this time I have been humming ol' blue eyes, Frank Sinatra's, song Fly me to the moon lol. I absolutely adore this image...he is just soooo cute! His name is Pilot Ted and you can find him here http://www.digistamps4joy.co.za/eshop/
Was I right or what? Please excuse the mistakes in my colouring...still getting used to colouring with my Chameleon pens (but I do love them). I printed him out on some digital paper called Rainbow Connect by Eye Inspire. How about we take a closer look at him....
I have to say, I just love his face. Not the way I coloured it (first oops lol) but his actual face. Isn't he too cute?

I hope that you have enjoyed checking out my new creation and I hope that you will pop by Digistamps4Joy Challenge Blog and check out the rest of our fabulous new images. And while you're there check out what my teammies have created to delight and inspire you.

Thanks for stopping by ~ Charlene
