Twas the Night Before Christmas.....

Twas the Night before Christmas

And all through the house…

Not a creature was stirring….

Not even a Mouse!

It’s time again for another Digistamps4Joy challenge. This time our challenge is going to last for 4 weeks!! That’s right, you have 4 whole weeks to get a project done and enter it. That's because the DT is taking a holiday. The theme this time is It's Christmas…but no mouse in my house! That’s right, we want you to make a project with a Christmas theme, but no animals on it...not even a mouse. And we have a twist this time....everyone who enters a It's Christmas, no mouse card, can enter an Anything Goes card too. The only rule is that the Anything Goes card must have a Digistamps4Joy image.  Now doesn't that sound great?!
The wonderful image that I got to use for this challenge is called Christmas Candle. So I went online to see what I could find to do with this fab image….and I came across a really unique (at least to me) card.
It’s an Easel card with 2 mini add on’s. And the great thing about it is not only does it look good, but it’s really easy to make. You can find the tutorial for it here

I used a Sketch from Crafty Ann’s Challenge blog for challenge  #54.

So for my base I used black cs from Recollections. The green cs is metallic green and the red dp is Little yellow bicycle Wonder Wishes paper. I colored the image with my Prisma Scholar pencil crayons and oms. The stars on the candle I coloured with my gold metallic Gelly Roll pen and the berry’s of the holly were coloured with my red glitter Gelly Roll pen. I used my SU ticket punch to punch the corners of the dp and used my  Nestibilities Pettite Scalloped Ovals to cut the black cs for behind the image. I’ll have to get back to you on the die I used for the image. The black glittery ribbon is by Celebrate It Holiday Ribbon. As my finishing touches I added a sentiment from Birds Cards, and some holly and poinsettia’s from K&Company. I also traced the edges of my die cut image with my red glitter Gelly Roll pen.
I hope that you'll head on over to Digistamps4Joy challenge blog and join us in this fun new challenge. And while you're there, check out the marvelous creations that my fellow teamies have created. You won't be disappointed.

Thanks for visiting my blog,

Crafting with Jack Christmas Chandelier Challenge

Well it’s another wonderful wet day here on the “wet coast” of B.C. (can you hear the sarcasm? lol) Summer just seemed to pass by way too fast for me….and did we even have a fall this year? Sure doesn’t seem like it. And now here we are onto the Christmas season. As usual these days I seem to be just squeaking in under the wire on some of my challenges, and this one is no exception. Angela, from Crafting with Jack, had an absolutely wonderful Christmas challenge…and for this challenge she gave away the most awesome image. But don’t take my word, see for yourself.

Isn’t this image just incredible? You can find this one and all of her other fabulous images here.  I was so excited to be able to get it and enter in on the challenge, so I decided that I needed to do something special for this image. I did a double twisted easel card…I haven’t done one of these for a long time and I’ve always loved the look of them. The cs I used is from Stampin Up and the dp is scraps from my stash. I’m not positive, but I think it was by Recollections, but don’t quote me on that lol. I coloured the candles and leaves with my Prisma Scholar pencil crayons and oms. The candle holder was coloured with my Gold Gelly Roll pen and the berries on my holly was coloured with my Red Gelly Roll Glitter pen. I coloured the flames with my Gold glitter gel pen. I just love the effect of it all.
The sentiments that I used are from Pattie’s Creations Christmas Sentiment Set, the rhinestones are from a package I got from our local dollar store and the flat backed pearls are from Recollections. I punched the corners with a corner punch from Making Memories.

Now although you can’t join in on this challenge because it’s already over, I would encourage you to check out her challenge blog because she has another great challenge happening now and another wonderful freebie to use for it! How great is that? I hope to see you all over there…and maybe leave a word or two for her incredible design team.

Thanks for visiting me…..

Pattie's Creations Christmas Challenge

Good day ladies, have I ever got a great challenge for you today. It’s challenge time again over at Pattie’s Creations and this time the theme is Christmas!!! Yup, it’s time to start getting all of those Christmas cards that you been putting off making, made. I was so incredibly lucky to be able to get the most heart warming image to use for this challenge. It’s a brand new one that Pattie made up for a drawing challenge on CDAC and as soon as I saw it I knew that I wanted it.
Does this image not just melt your heart to look at it? It's called Holiday Miracle and I think you can see why.  You can find it and all of her other fabulous images here. I decided that this very special image needed a very special project for it, so I looked around and found the tutorial for this fabulous Tea Light Easel card. It’s very easy to do and you can find the tutorial here. If you have any problems with it, please feel free to contact me.

So I colored my image with Prisma Scholar pencil crayons and oms. The dp is My Minds Eye Lost and Found Christmas Tinsel paper and the cs is from SU. I used my Beaded Ovals Nestibilities for both my image and the sentiment. The sentiment is also from Pattie’s Creations…you can find them and a whole bunch more here.
I used my Stamp n Stuff Red Tinsel embossing powder on the beaded parts of my oval behind my image to tie it in with my dp and give it a little “pop”. I used my Star Dust stickles on the baby’s hat and the ribbon is from Celebrate It Holiday Ribbon (you can find this at Michaels).
So now that you’ve checked out my Christmas project, why don’t you head over to Pattie’s and join in the fun. The rules are simple…just make a project (it need not be a card) that follows the theme. Please, no back linking. You must use a Digital Image or Stamped Image on your project. You are not required to use one of Pattie’s images…although we would be thrilled if you did, but those projects made with a Pattie’s Creation image will get an extra entry into our random draw. For all of the rules and prizes head on over to the Challenge Blog. We have a few surprises over there that you don't want to miss out on hearing about. And while you’re there check out the incredible creations that my teamies have come up with.
Thanks for coming by,

The Outlawz Creative Freebie Challenge

Wow, I am so far behind with my postings it’s not even funny…o.k. it might be funny to some of you that are in the same boat. Today I’m showing you a card that I did for a progressive challenge at the Outlawz. It’s called the Outlawz Creative Freebie Challenge and you can find it here.  Two fabulous ladies, Anne Fenton and Sandi Huggett,  have donated some incredible images for us to work with in this progressive challenge. This is one from the first set (sorry but we are now into the second set lol and they are equally fabulous!).

I just love this wonderful wreathe by Anne Fenton, of Anne’s Digital Art. She has put such wonderful details everywhere on it. Isn't that little bird just the cutest?

Now I used a sketch from a sketch challenge, but do you think I can find the paper that I wrote down who it was from? Of course not. For those of you that don’t know, we have just sold our house and we are in the process of looking for a new one…and things around here are kinda on the chaotic side. So as soon as I find where I got the sketch from I will post it. So the cs is from SU and the dp is from Momenta Specialty Collection. I colored the image with my Prisma Scholar pencil crayons and oms. I also used my Atyou Spica Sparkling like stars red glitter pen, Red Star Gelly Roll pen, black Zig Writer and 2 different green felt pens from SU.  The ribbon is by Celebrate it, the Holiday line and the red flat backed pearls are from Recollections.

I hope you will pop over to The Outlawz and check out this wonderful progressive challenge.

Thanks for visiting me.....

He is the Reason for the Season

I’m back with another fabulous challenge from Digistamps4Joy. This week our challenge is a Tic Tac Toe Color Challenge. All you have to do is pick colors from the tic tac toe square….across, down, diagonal…whichever you like, just as long as they are 3 in a row, and make a card or project with those colors. You may have other colors present, but the main colors must be the colors you have picked from the tic tac toe square. You can find the square on our challenge blog here.

The colors that I picked were black, neutral and gold. I was so lucky to be able to play with the image that I got. It is called Christmas Window Baby, and you can find it and all of their other wonderful images here. I decided to use a gate fold card for my project.

The black cs is from SU (Stampin Up), the dp is from Forever in Time’s Yuletide collection, the Gold Metallic dp is from Recollections and the neutral cs under the sentiment is from Recollections. The sentiment is free from Teresa Arsenault, of Tickell Expressions, and you can find this one and others on her blog here or here. When you open my card you find the gorgeous image from Digistamps4Joy. As soon as I saw this image I knew that I wanted to create something with it.

Now originally I had wanted to print my image onto the gold metallic paper, but my printer wouldn’t let me do it…it kept telling me that my ink was not compatible with photo paper….I kept telling it that it wasn’t photo paper…the printer ended up winning lol. So I printed it onto white paper, traced it onto tracing paper and then traced that onto the gold paper. I then paper pieced each piece of the window, the dove and the baby Jesus and his bed.

I colored the baby and his bed with Stampin Up felts and the hay with Gold Metallic Gelly Roll pen. The rays coming down from the dove are done with Stickles with gold glitter in it (don’t know the actual name of the stickles as it's not on the bottle).  The Merry Christmas underneath is from SU and the Sentiments on either side are free from Desert Diva and you can find them here. The gold lace on the front and inside is by Celebrate It and the small round discs on the front are Swarovski Crystals Swarovski Metallics.

So now it’s your turn to show us what you got. Head on over to our challenge blog and check out all the rules and prizes. And while you’re there check out the incredible creations my teamies have made.

Birthday Wishes from the Whole Gang

It’s that time again, time for another Pattie’s Creations challenge. Both Pattie and her sister Sandi are celebrating their birthday’s this month so the challenge is Birthday’s or Thanksgiving.

This time I got to play with Pattieboop and Allie on Safari…I absolutely love this image…it’s such a fun one. You can find it and all of her other fabulous creations here.
I used the sketch from Outlaws Wednesday Sketch challenge to make this easel card.
The cs is from SU, the green camo paper is by Recollections and the pink and purple camo paper, that I paper pieced onto the jeep and is under the sentiment, is by Junkitz Collection Paperz Teen collection.

The flowers and flat backed pearls  are by Recollections, the leaves I got at a garage sale and I used stickles on my flowers. I sponged around the image using SU Close to Cocoa. I used a Nestibilities die for the image and the sentiment and my SU rounded corner punch for the corners.

So head on over to Pattie’s Creations challenge blog and check out the rules and my teamies fabulous creations.
