Hey
everyone, it’s time for another challenge at Pattie’s Creations. This time our
challenge is to emboss. Any type of embossing will do…dry embossing, heat
embossing, embossed papers…you get the idea. As usual we do require that you
have a digital or stamped image on your creation. You don’t have to have a
Pattie’s Creations image…but we sure would be tickled pink if ya did.
For our
challenge Pattie generously let me play with Soaring Eagle. I was so excited…and
nervous to be able to use this one. I have a very dear friend on the CDAC that
has eagles that live right near her home on Vancouver Island so I wanted to be
able to give her an eagle on her Birthday Fat Page. Unfortunately my colouring
skills are not quite up to doing a Bald Eagle as wonderful as it is, so I
decided to colour it like an African Fish Eagle (or as close as I could get it
to that *laughing*). I coloured this fabulous image with my Crayola Crayons and oms.
I
started off with blue cs from SU, which I embossed with my Garden Delight
Design B Reversible M-Bossibilities Folder. This folder is so great as it gives
you two embossing folders in one. I then took some pink roses dp from my stash
and cut out a square frame (by hand as I don’t own a punch or die that will do
this). To this I added some pink dp from BoBunny. The pretty pink ribbon I had
in my stash and the flat backed pearls are by Recollections. I made the flowers
myself with my EK Success flower punch and my SU 3 flower punch (sorry I can’t
remember the name for it but it has 3 flower punches on one punch.). I ran the
blue pieces through my Cuttlebug with the M-Bossibilities folder to give it a
bit of texture. The leaves were done with my Marvy Uchida Oak leaf punch and
the vines are made with my Savannah Border Die by Memory Box.
I made
the dp behind the eagle by taking half of my Scallop punch from SU and using my
SU pastels to form the clouds. I started off with Pink, then used 2 different
shades of blue and blended them all in to give the soft look of clouds in a
evening sky.
On the
inside left hand side I used a sentiment that I found at Birds Cards and on the
right side is a sentiment I found on Split Coast Stampers.
I also
added the embossed flower and the ribbon on the inside of the card. On the
back I added another sentiment that I found at Birds Cards and some more of the
flowers and vines. I also used a Making Memories corner stamp on the corners of my pink paper.
So now
that you have made it through this very long post, I hope that you will make
your way over to Pattie’s Creations Challenge Blog and join in on our
challenge. While you’re there check out what my teamies have done…there’s lots
of great inspiration there. Also please make sure that you check out our rules…we
don’t have many so it shouldn’t take you long *smiling* Also, if you have entered our last challenge, you will find the winners listed on the right hand side column. Congratulations to those that won!
Thanks
for looking….Charlene
