Digistamps4Joy Something New Mid Challenge Reminder

I'm dreaming of a White Christmas
Just like the one's I used to know
Where the tree tops glisten
And children listen
To hear sleigh bells in the snow
I'm dreaming of a White Christmas
With every Christmas card I write
May your days be Merry and Bright
And may all your Christmases be white.

Hi all, it's time for our mid challenge reminder again at Digistamps4Joy. Riette is the host of our challenge and she has picked the theme of "Something New". So anything that you feel is something new...new car, new house, baby...or as I decided to do...new snow. That first snow of the season, you know the one I mean. The one that changes everything around you and makes everything look "new". For this challenge I have merged 4 of Digistamps4Joy's images. I used First Snow, Vintage Lantern Girl, Mr. Snowman and Gazebo
For my card I merged First Snow twice, once the regular way and then once as a mirror image. I then layered the Gazebo, then Mr. Snowman and Vintage Lantern Girl on top.
I coloured all of the images with my Prisma Pencil crayons and oms. I then added clear rhinestones for falling snow and multi coloured one's for decorations on my tree. I added red glitter pen to Mr. Snowman's buttons and Star Dust stickles to the trim on the Vintage Girl's coat, mitts, pom pom of her hat, the icicles and to the snow. For the inside I did it up like a book...thanks for the idea Desire from Doing Life.

I hope that we will see you join in our challenge. You have until Tuesday December 23rd. You are not required to use a DS4J image but if you do not only will we be really excited you will also be eligible for the DT Choice Prize of a $10 Gift Voucher. For a full list of our rules and prizes head on over to our Challenge Blog. And while you're there check out the incredible creations that my team mates have created to inspire you.

Thanks for coming and visiting my blog ~ Charlene

Digistamps4Joy Challenge #104 - Christmas

Frosty the snowman was a jolly happy soul
With a corncob pipe and a button nose
And two eyes made out of coal
Frosty the snowman was a fairytale they say
He was made of snow but the children know
How he came to life one day...

Hi all, it's that time of year again, time for carolers, hot chocolate or hot apple cider, nights spent cuddling on the couch watching all of the old and new Christmas movies...you get the idea...Christmas is coming!!! It is also my turn to host our challenge at DS4J and so I have chosen Christmas as the theme. Christmas has always been my favorite time of year, I love all of the carols and time spent doing traditional things. Every year my dad would set up the Christmas tree and all of us kids would gather around to decorate it. It was such a wonderfully fun family time that I incorporated it into our family traditions for my family. This year is going to be a tough one for our family as it will be the first one since my dad's passing, but my husband and I are determined that it is going to be a good one.

Every year with the first snow my siblings and I would go outside to build a snowman...and have snowball fights, build snow caves, you name it. If it was outside it was what we wanted to do it. So in memory of those fabulous times spent with my siblings and then my own children building snowmen I decided to use DS4J's Mr. Snowman.

I used a free cutting file from Birds Cards as my background. I then printed up my Mr. Snowman and coloured him with Prisma Pencil Crayons and oms. I added red glitter glue for his buttons and the trim of his hat, black glitter glue for his hat and star dust stickles for the snow and cutting file snowflakes. I cut out snowflakes to use as flowers using my Impression Obsession snowflake dies and punched out holly with my Martha Stewarts Holly punch.

We hope that you will join us in our challenge. It runs from Wednesday November 26 to Tuesday December 9th. We have some fabulous prizes to be won by those using DS4J image or other images. If you use a DS4J image you will be put into the running for a $10 Gift Voucher to the store...now wouldn't that be a great Christmas gift? So head on over to our Challenge Blog and check out all the wonderful prizes and rules. And while you're there check out the fabulous creations that my team mates have created to amaze and inspire you. We can't wait to see what you come up with!

Digistamps4Joy Mid Challenge Reminder

Hi all, it's time for our mid challenge reminder over at Digistamps4Joy. Our challenge right now is being hosted by our wonderful team mate Berni and she has chosen getting ready for holiday's/fall.

For my project I decided to do a Christmas card...and what do you do when Christmas comes around? You decorate!
I used 2 images for my card, First snow and Vintage Lantern Girl. I melded the images together and then fussy cut them out to put in the globe. The blue background paper is a dotted embossed cs by Bazzil. I used my own homemade flower soft for the snow on the ground (made by rubbing 2 styrofoam balls together). I used Perfect Pearls to make the falling snow and stickles on her coat and hat.

Our challenge runs until Tuesday November 23rd and we sure hope to see you join in. It is not required to use a DS4J image but if you do you will be in the running to win the DT choice prize which is a $10 Gift Voucher to the shop! Thanks for the memories - Digitamps4Joy Challenge #103 Mid Challenge Post

Hi all, sorry I haven't been around for awhile. I have a shoulder injury that is playing havoc with my life right now. But, you didn't come here to listen to my problems lol. It's time for the mid challenge reminder at Digistamps4Joy. Our challenge this time is being hosted by the lovely Gloria and she has chosen 'Anything Goes' as the theme.

Recently my mom came to visit and we went to Victoria on Vancouver Island to visit with her brother and his daughter. We had such a wonderful time and we thought that it would be a nice idea to send a thank you card to my uncle for the fabulous visit and meals that he supplied for us. I have been waiting for the perfect occasion to use a very special stamp that I got a while back. For those who don't know, Margy's dear father was also a wonderful artist and drew many fabulous images in his lifetime. Margy has taken some of these images and made them into digital images. When Margy first digitized the image I am using she had a contest to name it and I won. So please let me introduce you to 'Talk About Fast Food'.
Isn't this image just fabulous? I figured that the bird falling down totally plucked and ready for cooking would be perfect for a thank you card for someone who fed you some meals lol. Here's a closer picture of the image.
I printed out the image and coloured it with my Prisma pencil crayons and oms. I then fussy cut it out and glued it onto the second panel in my center step card. I added a blue sky and clouds in the background and grass in front to make it look like he's in the wilderness hunting. The trees, clouds and the Thanks sentiment are a cut files from Birds Cards.
So now it's your turn to show us what you got. The challenge runs until Tuesday November 11th. You don't have to use a DS4J image, but if you do you will be put in the running to win the DT choice and the prize is a $10 Gift Certificate for use in the DS4J Store. For a list of all prizes and rules head on over to the DS4J Challenge Blog. And while you're there check out the incredible cards that my team mates have made to inspire you.

Digistamps4Joy New Release Sept. 28, 2014...Birthday Wishes

It time for a new release again at Digistamps4Joy, my but the time seems to be flying by. And our fabulous artists have really outdone themselves this week. But before I get on with the new release, I would like to announce the winner of my small gift for our 100th Challenge Celebration. I'm so sorry that I am late announcing my winner. For some reason my brain told me I had put the end of the month, but when I checked I had put the 24th. So I do apologize for the wait. Congratulations please send me an email at charlenebell2@hotmail.com with your full name and address and I will get your prize out to you asap.

And now back to the new release. This week I got to play with an image called Record Player that our new artist Riette drew up. It's such a fun little image. My mom was looking for a birthday card while she was here and asked if I could make one up for her, so this is what I came up with.
I coloured the image with my Prisma pencil crayons and oms. I cut it out with my Nestibilities Square Scallop (I think that what it's called lol). The background is an image from the Silhouette store called Musical Flourish and the Happy Birthday is also from Silhouette. The rhinestones and musical notes are from my stash.

Put On Your Dancing Shoes

Hi all, it's time for another New Release with Digistamps4Joy and boy do our artists ever have some fabulous new images for you! I have been lucky enough to see 3 of the new images and can just imagine what the rest are going to be like. The image that I chose to showcase this week is by Margy and called My Ballgown...oooooh it is so pretty and such a dream to work with.
I coloured it with my Prisma pencil crayons and oms. I also added some white highlights with my white gel pen.

And this image is so versatile. Grad cards, weddings, anniversaries, birthday's...this image can do them all. I decided on a birthday card though as I have lots of birthdays coming up in the near future.

I used the sketch from Colors and Sketches Sketch Challenge.

Baby Boy: Digistamps4Joy Challenge #99 - Circles

Hi all, I know, it's been a very long time. Sorry I haven't been around for a long time. I have been dealing with some medical issues for a family member and have not had very much computer or crafting time.

So today marks the half way point for Digistamps4Joy's current challenge. The challenge is being hosted by my fabulously talented team mate Asmah and she wants to see circles! That's right, she wants some sort of circle made of paper on it...you can even add circular embellishments if you'd like. I chose to add circles to my card as I don't have a circle die that is big enough to make a card sized circle. Yeah I know, I could have traced a plate or something and cut it out, but that was too much like work right now. So the image that I used is one that was just release 2 weeks ago called Baby Rattle. We have had a lot of babies born to nieces, and friend's daughter's lately so I figured I would stock up on baby cards.
Now originally I was going to heat emboss the entire rattle using some embossing felts that I have, but wow...it took me so long just to do the areas of green that I did that I decided against doing the rest of it embossed.

So now it's your turn to show us what you've got. Just head on over to Digistamps4Joy's Challenge Blog to check out the rules and a list of our fabulous prizes. And while you're there check out what my incredibly talented team mates have come up with to inspire you.

Thanks for dropping by ~ Charlene

I find cards for guys just the hardest one's to do, but we sure have been getting a lot of fabulous inspiration from all of you over the last week. The challenge started on Wednesday July, 9th and will end on Tuesday July 22nd so you still have lots of time to join in.

I decided to use one of Margy's newer images "Lion" for a Father's Day card for my dad. I just loved the regal look of this fine animal so much that I just had to give it to my dad...King of the Jungle and all ya know? lol
I merged the image onto an African print picture that I found online, unfortunately for the life of me I just cannot find the folder that I put that picture into so that I can give the artist credit. As soon as I do I will post it. The sentiment is a freebie from Desert Diva. The fold is called a Napkin fold and you can find the tutorial here.
The orange cs is by Bazzil and the orange and brown dp's are by BoBunny. Rhinestones and pearl swirls are from my stash. Die cut/embossing is by Nestibilities (will get die name later). Corner punch is from Recollections. The image was coloured using Crayola Pencil crayons and oms. The inside sentiment is a combination of a freebie from A Piece of Heart and my own words at the end.

There are some fabulous prizes to be won and some incredible creations for inspiration to be seen, so I hope that you will head on over to the Digistamps4Joy Challenge Blog and join in the fun.

Thanks for popping by and looking ~ Charlene

Digistamps4Joy New Release for May 25

Hi all, it's time for another new release day at Digistamps4Joy. This week we were given 2 images to play with, unfortunately I only had time to make one card so you will have to go to the Digistamps4Joy Challenge Blog to see the rest.

The image that I chose to play with this week is called Lighthouse. Oh my good heavens but this is one multi-use type of image. It can be used for a man's/women's/birthday/father's day/mother's day/sympathy/thinking of you/get well...well you get the idea, it is a multi faceted type of image. I just love nature type of images (keep your eyes open as I am working on a card using an image that Margy did up from a picture I had posted on our DT Blog...it's just taking a bit as I want it to be " just right"). Anyways, I digress, you are here to see the image for this week's new release...so without further adieu...
I made this card for my dad...he's going through some rough health issues and I want him to remember the through God all things are possible.

Thank you so much for popping in and having a bit of a visit with me. I hope that you will head over to the Digistamps4Joy Challenge Blog and check out all of the other images that are being released and the fabulous creations that my team mates have made for your viewing pleasure.

Have a wonderful day ~ Charlene
