Anniversary Wishes
It’s
time for another Sunday Release at Digistamps4Joy and we have a surprise for
you. Digistamps4Joy has been given permission to digitise and sell CountryCrafts and Stamps Janel range of rubber stamps. So we are having a SPECIAL
RELEASE to introduce you to this new range of digital stamps at Digistamps4Joy.
And this release will not be the only time that you will be seeing them in the
store. We will have a few of their images every Sunday.
I
was lucky enough to be able to use Rose Trio and decided it was the perfect
image to make a card for my sister’s upcoming Anniversary.
I
decided on fall colours for my card as they were married in the fall.
I
used orange cs from SU, the orange and green dp’s are from Echo Park’s Victoria
Gardens Theme, and the yellow dp is by My Mind’s Eye. I coloured the image with
my Staedler Pencil Crayons and oms. I cut the image out with my Nestabilities
scalloped oval. The
orange hearts are from my stash and the orange flat backed pearls are by
Recollections. The layout is from a sketch from Christmas Challenges.
Now
we are doing this a little different this time. On our challenge blog we will
be showing 2 of our DT inspirations, and we will continue to show a few
creations every day for 5 days! So we hope that you will go on over and check
out the new images and then also check back to see what our fabulous DT has
come up with to inspire you.
Thanks
for coming and looking ~ Charlene

Pattie's Creations Birthday Challenge #51
Morning
all, hope you are all having a wonderful day today. It’s time for another
challenge over at Pattie’s Creations and this time the theme is Birthday’s. It’s really funny that we
are doing a theme on birthdays on this particular day, as it happens to be mine
and my team mate Anne Temple’s birthday today. I just thought that was so funny…talk
about a coincidence. Between
my family and friends, I think that we have most of the days in August covered.
So
I decided to do a card for a friend of mine for this challenge. I used Allie and Wheelbarrow for it because I just loved how it was such a wonderfully calm
and relaxing type of image. Just the kind of day that I’m hoping to have…doing
nothing but my crafting.
The card is what’s called a fat page card. I just love doing these
little babies because they are such a challenge to fit everything that you
would do on a full sized card onto a card that is only 4X4. Now do you see what I mean about the image? Doesn't Allie just look all relaxed laying there beside that wheelbarrow full of flowers? You can just about feel the sun beating down on him.
I
coloured the image with my Prisma Pencil crayons, oms and my green and silver metallic
gel pens. I also used my gold glitter pen to fill in the insides of the
flowers. The lilac swag and butterfly was something that I had in my stash as
where the buttons. If you look closely at the lilacs you will see a nice bit of
glitter on them. The flat backed pearls are from Reflections and the pink and
clear rhinestones are by Deco. The purple cs is by Bazzil, the pink polka dot
dp is from BoBunny and the pink rose dp is from my local dollar store (sorry no
name with it). The green dp is by SU. The
sentiment on the tag is a freebie that I got from Digital Doodling.
I
used the sketch from Crafting Life's Pieces for my project.
Now
it’s your turn to show us what you can do. Just remember that our rules state
that you must have a digital or stamped image on your creation. It doesn’t have
to be a Pattie’s Creations image, but we sure would love it if it was. To check
out our challenge and the rules just head on over to Pattie’s Creations
Challenge Blog. While you’re there, check out the incredible creations that my
teammates have come up with and if you can, leave them a little love...and maybe some birthday wishes for Anne (even if they are belated *laughing*).
Thanks

ABC, 123 It's Back to School for You (Not Me!)
School days, school days
Dear old golden rule days
Readin' and 'ritin' and 'rithmetic
Taught to the tune of the hickory stick
You were my queen in calico
I was your bashful barefoot beau
And you wrote on my slate
"I love you, so"
When we were a couple of kids
Happy Hump Day everyone! It's time for another fabulous challenge at Digistamps4Joy. This fortnight our challenge is all about back to school. Yup, the kids...and or partners, are going back to school and we want you to make something to welcome them back...or convey your sympathies *laughing*.
Now I don't have anyone going back to school...so I decided to make something that either me or my dd could use. I used Emma for my creation and oh my goodness she is just a dream to work with. Because my dd and I are avid readers (more often than not you can find her nose in a book *laughing*, I decided to make a book mark.
I
just love this image...isn't she just adorable in her little dress and hat. She
looks all ready for her first day of school. I paper pieced her and made the
base with scraps from my stash. The green dp is from SU. I coloured her flowers
and band on her hat and the top of her dress with SU markers. The rest of her
is coloured with Crayola pencil crayons and oms.
The
Vintage book mark design are by Nicecrane Designs. The small pink flatbacked
pearls are by Recollections and the green one's on the flowers are from my
local dollar store. The flowers were made by me using my punches.
Thank you for coming and looking at my creation. We hope to see you enter your own creation in our challenge. You can find all of the rules and a list of prizes on Digistamps4Joy Challenge Blog.
Thanks ~ Charlene

Birthday Greetings
On
August 9th South Africa celebrated National Woman’s Day and to help
celebrate Digistamps4Joy is having a Portrait of a Woman Challenge. We want to
see your creations that are geared towards women. Funny, serious, elegant or
somewhere in between, it doesn't matter as long as it portrays how beautiful
and wonderful a woman is. Please, no witches, goth, vampires, fairies, etc.
Last
week it was Team A’s turn to wow you, this week it is Team B’s. I chose the
image Diva “D” for my card. Actually mine is not a card, it is a fat page (for
information on fat pages click here). I wanted something fun for a birthday
card for a friend of mine.
I
chose to do a Criss Cross Card for my fat page. The cs is by Stampin Up, the purple polka dot dp is by Bazzil. As usual I used the piece of dp with the name of the flowered dp on my project and I have no idea who it's by. One day I will remember not to do that lol. I used some purple and yellow flowers by Prisma and some beautiful rhinestone swirls by Recollections. The image was coloured with Crayola Crayons and oms, and the gold on her purse, strap and bubbles for the champagne are done with my Gold Glitter Gel Pen. I punched the edges with my SU Scalloped Trim Border punch.
The
sentiment is by A Piece of Heart.
Now it's your turn to show us what you've got. Just head on over to our Challenge Blog and add your wonderful creation...we'd love to see them. You still have a few more days to get in on the fun. While you're there, check out our rules and the fabulous creations that my teammates have made to inspire you.

Happy Birthday Dino
You all know
that my dear daughter and I were recently in Alberta to work the Calgary
Stampede. What you do not know, is that shortly after we came back home my
great nephew was celebrating his 3rd Birthday. Since we were going
to be there close to his birthday I decided that I just had to do up a birthday
card for him. Luckily I had just gotten this totally fabulous image from
Digistamps4Joy that was just perfect for his birthday.
The image is
called Toon Dragon and I paired it up with another Digistamps4Joy image called ChristmasHat, but I made it into a birthday hat. The piece of cake is from Dustin Pike. The
images were coloured by my daughter Kat and I with Crayola Pencil Crayons and
oms. Kat also helped me to pick out all of the papers and embellishments that
we used for the card…she’s such a great help :D
This is the
inside of the card. When we gave it to him it did have a birthday sentiment in
it, but I was in such a hurry because we were leaving the next day and I forgot
to take a picture of it. Maybe my niece will do it for me and send me a copy. The orange
cs is by Stampin Up, the Dinosaur paper is called Dinosaur Collage and it’s by Karen
Foster Design. I just love this paper because it not only has the names of dinosaurs on it, but also has some fun facts about them. The circles paper on the front is by Sandilion. Unfortunately, as usual, I used the piece of paper with the name
and manufacturer on it for the green “scale” paper on the actual card so I have
no idea who it’s by. The wonderful pterodactyls and volcano are 3D Pop-Up Fun stickers
by Craft Medley Krafty Kids and I found them at my local dollar store.
Thanks for coming and looking...hope I have managed to inspire you.
Hugs ~ Charlene

Calgary Stampede 2012
As
some of you may know, my daughter and I were recently in Calgary working at the
Calgary Stampede. It was brutally hot, but oh did we ever have a great time.
Now you’re probably wondering why I brought this up. Well, Pattie’s Creations
is having another challenge and the challenge this fortnight is to create
something that is not a card. Not a card…oh my goodness what was I to do? And
then it hit me….something that I had wanted to do for my daughter since we had
gotten back. And this is what I came up with….
I
used 3 of Pattie’s wonderful images for this project….Cowgirl Pattieboop, WesternBoots and Western Hat(Western Hat has not been added to the store yet, but will be soon). I coloured Pattieboop and the boots in reds and tans
because that’s the colours in my daughter’s bedroom. I left the hat white and
added some red and white bakers twine on it to simulate our cowboy hats from
the Stampede.
The
images were coloured with my Crayola Crayon Pencil Crayons and oms. The 2012
Calgary Stampede was done with sticky letters and numbers that I had someone
give to me recently. And
the picture is one of me and my daughter at the Stampede.
Now
it’s your turn to join in. It’s so easy to do, just head on over to Pattie’sCreations Challenge Blog and check out the rules. And while you’re there check
out all of the incredible projects that the rest of my teammates have done.
Thanks

Digistamps4Joy New Release Sunday
Well I don't know about all of you, but we have been getting some smokin hot weather here on the West Coast of Canada. And today is supposed to be even hotter than it's been all week....sure glad that we have airconditioning in our house *laughing*.
As today is Sunday, it is New Release day at Digistamps4Joy and do we ever have some wonderful images for you again this week. The DT got their choice of one of two different images to choose from this time and I chose Fuchsia...it's one of my favorite flowers (even though I have never lived in a place where I can grow them). I used the image to make a fat page for a friend of mine for her birthday. This is the back of it and it will be put into an album of fat pages.
The cs and dp is all from Bazzil. The purple cs has been embossed with my Cuttlebug embossing folder Victoria. The rhinestones are by Deco and I picked them up at my local dollar store. I coloured it with my Crayola Crayons and oms...and although it doesn't look like it from the pictures, the colours are shades of purple. I used small lavendar coloured flat backed pearls on the ends of the stamen for my flowers. The birthday sentiment is from Desert Diva. I have outlined the image using my SU felts.
To see the entire release, head on over to our Challenge Blog. And while you're there, hopefully you'll check out what my teammates have done and maybe leave them a little love.

Stripes and Polka Dots....Oh My!
It’s here at
last….our new mattress arrived today! I’m so excited, I can’t wait to get a
good night’s sleep tonight….and see if this headache I’ve had has been caused
by my bed. If not it’s back to the dr.’s for tests on the deteriorating disc in
my neck. But at least I’ll have a nice comfy bed to come home to *smiling*!
But I
digress, onto the real reason you’re here. There is still time to get in on
Digistamp4Joy’s current challenge, which is Polka Dots and Stripes! Yup, we
wanna see both of them. The card that I
made is a really special one as it was made for my dd Kaitlynn’s (Kat) 20th
Birthday. And what better image to use than Sophist-Kat? It uses her nick name
and it gives you the idea of what kind of card I wanted to do.
I wanted to
do something a little more "grown up" seeing as how it was her 20th
Birthay so I chose a Tri-Shutter card...well actually she chose it. I told her
I had to make a DT card and asked what her favorite fold that I've done is. She
likes the Tri-Shutter card....she also thought that red went well with the Aqua
paper I had already chosen...I totally agree with her *smiling*.
To join in on
the fun, just head over to the Digistamps4Joy Challenge Blog for all the
details and the list of prizes. While you’re there check out the fab creations
that my teammates have come up with.
